Back Into RX-7's

So I had a FC about 10 years ago, and moved onto other things. Now I'm trying to sell my Galant VR4, and maybe come back to a FC T2. What I remember back then, was motors dying left and right, saw FD's in the dealership service bays getting warranty motors put in with less than 50k miles on them. Yea, I know the potential of these motors...I love them. My question is, has the RX-7 community found out how to keep these motors from blowing sooner than later? I know you guys use RA or Atkins seals, do they keep the motor alive longer than factory?

Those engines blew because people didn't properly mod them from the get go. A hiflo exhaust is enough to pop an engine, let alone using a FCD (fuel cut defender) making the situation worse. More air in, more fuel needs to be added, its so damn basic yet idiots keep adding parts without addressing fuel management and KABOOM!

So do things right the first time (unfortunately this means spending money) and you won't need to go through the long string of blown engines for your learning curve.
