hello all, i was was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would still be worth it to change an auto 90 rx7 into a standard if i had access to a cheap engine with 5spd on itÉ

Well, the link above will tell you how to do it, but if your asking if it's worth it, that depends on you. I've done the swap, but that's because I need a 5spd for my track car, and I had an auto shell. If you just have a daily driver and that's all it really is, I don't see the need for swapping it into a manual, unless you really want a manual. If it's going on the track, then definitely swap it out. It depends on you. But you get much more control and fun out of a manual.

 

If he knows what it takes to do the swap he can figure out if its worth it was my point of view on it, this is not a black and white thing. Me, I would never drive an auto 7 but if his auto skills are not to the point he feels he can take this project on who am I to tell him if it is worth it.

any rx7 is worth making manual. all you need to do is make two steel brackets for the transmission to bolt to the automatic FC frame.,everything else is basically nuts and bolts.
