Australian FD goes 7.88 @ 170
THe Mazfix prepped FD ran a 7.92 @ 171mph in qualifying at a Nationals meet at Willowbank raceway in Queensland on Friday and then backed it up on Saturday with a 7.88 @ 170mph.
The car runs a 20B with mechanical injection and a Microtech ECU for ignition duties. The car runs an air shifted liberty box as well.
Still a ways to go to catch Siguel, but we are getting closer
Congrats to Archie and the boys.
Here is the timeslip for the 7.92:
Reaction 0.704
60' 1.251
330' 3.336
660' 5.097
660'mph 139.32
1000' 6.626
ET 7.929
MPH 171.95

Oh yeah, duh, forgot about the Pro tree. I can't remember the last time I saw one used, all I could think was the .500 tree
- PJ (The best is cutting a .500, the absolute worst is .499!
and I've cut a .499 and a .498 before )

I am certain the car will keep getting quicker. Like Coffin said, it is not a stripped out car, yet
The reaction means little to overall ET, though the 60ft could be considered a little slow.
I am not sure but I don't think this car is on the bottle either...

fairly ignorant question i know, but what exactly IS the fastest rotary on Earth? Who owns it? I assume it is some Puerto Rican monstrosity or something.....
i went for a drive in a 9 second RX3, and that was insane enough for me!
was like an F16 without wings.

I could imagine some record breaking E.T.'s Something like USA feeling the Australian pressure, USA comes back and puts the pressure on P.R. but Falito Racing rx7 puts the pressure back on Australia, man is nice to have imagination!!

That would be cool, but for a 3-rotor to compete in the outlaw class the only problem would be the weight penalty. Depending on sanctioning body and power adders etc. a 3-rotor in the outlaw class would have to weigh 2700 to 3000lbs at minimum. Most of the rules in the outlaw class now favor the full tube frame FWD's. There's even one sanctioning body this year that don't allow more than one power adder for RWD's in the outlaw class but the FWD's can run two and weigh 1500lbs.

The cost to get a car and crew over is massive.
There were rumours flying around that at the upcoming 4, 6 and rotor nationals, the organisers wer trying to get Siguel out here. The cost to get the car and crew etc across was $30000AUD! That is a massive cost upfront, but it would 100% lift gate takings thats for sure!!
The PR guys seem cashed up to the eyeballs, they should come down here!
