Ast And Overflow Probs

Ok i've just had a new big alloy rad and alloy ast fitted, I'm pretty sure the system is now been burped.
The problem is the water from the rad cap neck is going low but i'm not loosing the water. The water is going into the overflow tank (slowly bit by bit) and not returning to the rad cap neck when cold.

Could this be the AST CAP?

Please help, I have searched but would like your advise guys.

Regards...

Just to add a bit more info on the subject the car has a PFS Ic fitted and a Pettit AST tank.

The Ast does'nt seem to fit right (the brackets on the Ast make it sit very low compared to the stock one)

What is happening is the engine water level seems to drop to just above the Buzzer level then stop, it will do this very quickly and does'nt need the engine running.

There are a few Options we have looked at 1. There is a leak (there is no water on the floor and it drops to a level then stops) 2. the cap is leaking (i belive the cap is supposet to let water out when its over filled and in when its low) 3. AST is not compatable with the IC (this is a good option as we can rase the level of the Engines water but the Ast seems to high when the level is right)

I also have to point out the AST is not presurised and the water level does not drop or move whilst the engine level is moving about.

Can some one shed any light on this? the other thing is should the engine level be set up to the top and the cap put on or should there be air in the top and where should the AST level be when filling the car from empty?
