apexi ecv

If i were to install an apexi ecv (exhaust control valve) where should i put it for maximum silencing. The dp is 3" and it jumps up to 4" when the wastegate recirculates. Should i place the valve:
1. Right at the outlet of the downpipe? It would be a (80mm valve.
2. Before the center muffler but after the wastegate recirculates at which point it would be a 95mm valve.
3. After the middle muffler. a 95mm valve would be fitted

Has anyone had any experience with these valves?
