I am about to install an Apex S-AFC. I was just wandering if anyone can tell me exactly what the unit is capable of doing for me. Is it possable to tune out the 3000 rpm hesitation? Get any kind of hp gains? Any thing? I bought it kind of blind because a friend offered it to me for $200 so I jumped on it even though I'm not really familiar with the unit at all. Also if any one has any tips on tuning it that would be great. I have a '93 touring only mods are turbo timer, pettit aluminum AST, and cat back exhaust. Thanks in advance.

 

i have one installed, but haven't messed with it yet. right now, its only purpose is being a cool looking guage. according to others, it's good for minor mods, (1- 2 mods, eg. downpipe and cat back) i bought my at an extreamly inflated price, and regret it to this day. 420 +tax. if i were you, i'd get a power fc, much better choice. if you find any advice regarding its tuning, let me know. basically all it does is increase the fuel in percentages at specific rpm's. i would think it is fairly difficult to tune without a dyno and lambda a/f ratio device. closest you could get without those is a rough gustimation which will protect you from detonation, but might run you too rich and cause you to waste gas.

 

Ok, I've got it installed, one little problem though. My airbag light keeps blinking (9 blinks the pause, 9 blinks pause...). Any ideas? Also any help on how I need to tune it would be nice.
