Anyone use a Borla XR-1?

I need an exhaust for my turbo first gen. Thinking of running 2 XR-1's in line, using one as a presilencer.

Any reason this is a bad Idea? How do they sound on rotary? I'm planning on using 2.5" inlet/outlet. My HP goal is only 280-300 RWHP so this should be a good size.

oooooohhhhhhhhhhh brother ....

I've got a 3" exhaust, with a high flow cat in the middle and an XR-1 at the tailpipe, and man that thing is loud. I'm not sure how two of them inline would sound though... i'm contemplating shoehorning another one in there somewhere...

On the upside they're light and built well

i got one as a pre-silencer and an N1 for a muffler. quiet at idle and doesn't get loud til 70 or 80. Street wise it's great. Goos sound. I think the two inline would be adequate. I chose the N1 for the ability to have the optional silencer. good muffler and great build.

I should clarify that quiet is a relative term. Oh and it's 3" in and out. with a street port and TO4B turbo.

Thanks for the info. I decided to go with a 3" exhaust. I will probably try this set up unless I can find something better soon.

Thanks,
Mike

I use the Borla, they do well in muffling the noise compare to other brands such as dynomax, flow masters, or the N1 style canisters....

I'ts just a straight through muffler. Not really a tip. Just 3" in/out. I plan on just putting a turn down on the end of mine.

here is a pic.
