Wow!! I'm really impressed what the Puerto Ricans can do with a Mazda rotary engine! Does somebody have some facts about the engine?

Hate to thread jack but you and Crispeed seem to be the only ones in the KNOW. But does anyone know whats up with the Sporty Motorsports 13B RX7? Last I heard they change the setup from running C16 to alcohol. If it ran 7.3's on C16 I can't imagine what it does on alcohol. Congrats to Siquel and the Anais team. He needs to get that Major League car out more often can't get enough videos of that car. Also anyone know if Raphaelito is coming back after his crash? I hope he is the first 13B in the 6's an innovator like him deserves a record like that.

anais

why is it that everytime somebody from puerto rico establishes a new record you have guys coming in here questioning weight?
you guys keep asking and its always the same answer. not that anybody on the island gives a crap, but yes they are legal.
la atrevida proved it by coming here and running the same times he ran in puerto rico.
these cars have weighed the same for years, back when the fastest rotary powered starlet was running 8.2's and now that they are running 7.3's.
its not weight reduction the reason they are running fast, its power.
anais is running 7.3's doing 1.12 in the 60' imagine what they are going to run in a full chassis where 1.06 60' are the norm?
i say that the 7.3's is nowhere near their full potential. when these guys start using adjustable clutches, they will run 7.00's @190+mph.
i just hope they stay safe.

Sorry, but I haven't heard anything about Sporty's, and Rafaelito is coming back, his car was at the shop getting fixed (last I heard).

You're RIGHT ! they don't give a crap so why be at NHRA legal weight ????
I'm quite sure they are legal in their own "Island way".

There's no doubt they are making more power but please don't tell me they have weighed the same for years since they have been underweight in the past !!!!

Congrats to the "Anais" team on a clean fast record run !!!
and I'm sure we will see more from them.....

The ones that are\were underweight, are the ones not running on any of the NHRA events, hence not the fastest ones (unless you are talking about the NA + NOS). Rafaelito, La Atrevida, etc are prime examples; if you are refering to Siguel's incident, we are talking about less than 10lbs.

What other fast, record holder car (at any givien time) can you name that was underweight ny the NHRA standards?

BTW - Anais weights 1922lbs without driver stated by the chassis builder, who in turn would love to add more weight to the car.

team anais

everytime somebody wants to hate, the first thing they want to question is weight. nobody said anything when shawn hillier was underweight. nobody is questioning his record. theres been others too.
we in puerto rico race because we can and we want to. check out half the teams in the nhra. they'll tell you, the only reason they are racing is because sponsors are picking up the tab.
when the nhra fades and goes away. we'll still keep building and making new records.

The Siguel incident was bullshit !!! yes, less then 10lbs.......
He's still #1 in my book since his 1st appearance @ Etown.

It's obvious that if these cars attend a NHRA event that they will meet weight limits....the question is ....> are they running just as fast here as they are in PR ?
I could only remember of one or two cars.....

But all that is not very important to me.....there's NO hate !!!
Running 180+mph in the 1/4 with a 2 rotor wankel underneath the hood gets my highest respect !!!!
There's no argument that these cars are making alot more hp then few years ago....

Are most of these guys running alcohol? What's the limit these guys take their cars on gas (HP/PSI)?

I know you are not hating, just used your post to add some info Those who do race the NHRA events have been able to back those number here in US (I don't **** about tunning, but going from a humid\hot place to any state and been able to adjust settings within a day or so, seems like a tough thing to do. Might be easier than I thing though).
