Alternate injector locations

I'm sorting out the efi setup on my street-ported 4-port 13b and am looking for ideas with respect to my injector location.

I've adapted a T2 intake, and mounted injectors up top. The two center ones act as the primaries, as I do not have injector bosses in the center iron. Pictures can be seen at:

The system seems to work fine when driving, but idle quality is poor. I'm running 4x460 injectors, with the center two only in operation at low power settings. I've tested both with and without the injector diffusers, and the best idle is found without them. When dropping down to an idle after running at higher rpm, it will idle smooth for about 5 seconds, and then slowly load up to the point of stalling. Tuning leaner at idle results is immediate stalling. The stock injectors seem to spray a straight stream (or at least very narrow cone). Should I try some alternate primary injectors that spray a wider cone pattern for better atomization at idle?

Any thoughts?
