85 rx n/a performance

85 rx n/a performance

hey im new to the hole car performance thing i just bought a 85 rx-7 gls for some fun but it seems to lack power how can i get more power while keeping it natural and affordable? id like to hit maybe low 15's high 14's in a 1/4

Header and exhaust is the biggest gain on rotaries. you can gain upto 30HP with early cars. Low 15-high 14's ET. You have to do internal mod to a 12A to get close to that.

do the header and exhaust as mazdied said....and put an aftermarket intake maniolf and carb combo from racingbeat......upgrade ur ignition system by changing the coils to msd blaster coils and add an MSD 6A. I have an 83 GSL....pm me if u need more info

ok one more question

now with that info what type of header and exhaust (mandrel bent, size muffler etc?..lol..sorry ) everybody talks about carbs which is the best for performance?..also machine shops do port and polish right?..about how much would that cost to be done? down the road id like to either buy a low mileage 12a or rebuild the one i have now, afterwards could i run a nice n20 kit on there maybe around 50-75 or can the 12a hold more then that?...well thats about it for now thanks alot for everything so far i hate to pick your brains but hey i wanna go fast
