79 SA transmission using FC N/A lightweight flywheel?

I'm fairly confident that any N/A lightweight flywheel will fit the SA bellhousing but I just want to double check.

Anyone here used an FC lightweight flkywheel and clutch kit in a 5spd 1979 SA trans?

Thanks

as long as the flywheel is a 9.0 ( s4/5 NA ) or 8.5 inch type
( and not a turbo 9.5 )
it will fit and work in all the earlier "M" style gearboxes with the original starter

'M" types in 1983-85 ( and FC NA ones ) are all built to use a 9.0 inch type clutch package,, previous from 1979-1983 used the 8.5

as such the 9.0 ring gear is exactly the same as that added to 8.5 inch ones

( and both 8.5 and 9.0 use the 22 spline centre of the up to and including FC "M" box input shaft )

short answer = AOK

Cool, thanks

I'm swapping a stock S5 turbo engine into a 79 using the stock trans. So now I just need to find an FC lightweight flywheel and clutch kit.
