4- port build Q

I want to build a 13b 4-port engine with webber 51 adi carbs, and a bridge port.

i was wondering what year model engine is best to use and what tranny is best for road racing .

BTW this engine is gonna go in a datsun 510.

I don't know about the engine, but as for the transmission, I would probably go with an RX-7 TII transmission on this one .

My same exact build! Mine is going in a miata. I used a S5 TII motor as a base to begin. S5 NA rotors get me 9.7:1 CR. Researching now into how to make this thing live at hgih RPM's. (rotor clearance, eccentric taper and prep, oil pressure is a big thing 130+psi) S6 stationary gears with those wicked bearings. etc...
