Goal is max HP at 12psi. I would be very happy with 350...then I would start tweaking again

Once I figure out my car's max at 12psi, going to benchmark and concentrate on the braking and tracking the car a little bit. Not to mention cleaning and painting.

Sorry, Tim. I should have update this thread. My last window/dyno event the 16th. I ended up going to Mrytle Beach, SC at the last minute. Had a free condo to stay in...so wtf!

Next dyno event won't be until about 20 more days, next month. A friend of ours (Nocab72's and I) has a mobile chasis dyno that we seem to show up at each of his events. Can't beat around $80 for 3-5 runs with wideband.

And, I got my OZ-DIY wideband O2. We haven't hooked it up to the datalogit yet (project for this week) and the datalogit boyz have some SWEET new features coming out that will enhance tuning on the fly (with WB O2.)

I am over 350 RWHP right now, just need a dyno to chart the numbers and graph the settings again.

I saw Glen's post on the new version. I can't wait! If you don't have the datalogit for your PFC, get it, get it, get it. Screw AEM's stuff. It's amazing, but I was actually reading a British rag about Japanese cars (I think it's called Japan Performance or something like that) but one ad featured the PFC with the "optional" FC Edit laptop software. Even had a pic! It's global man! Guess my next purchase will be a DIY wideband from OZ :-) Hey, don't forget to test my maps too.

Hehe. Will do Michel. It might be a much of a drive for you, but you hear about Gordon's single turbo BBQ in Oct.? He says those of us over 350 RWHP are welcome too. Check the thread out in the NE section.

Used laptops with P2 or P3s abound on ebay and such. I am in the market for one around $500 too. Just saw a nice 12" screen Sony (P3) for 3 times that. But it's small, light and has a DVD-CD/RW built in it. New, of course.

Where is the BBQ? I debated driving to SevenStock this year but the vacation time just wasn't there unfortunately. I'm always up for a drive!

Damn, Pennsylvania...that is a hike...if my folks were still in Jersey I might consider it but alas, like everyone else's parents, the just moved down to Florida near me :-) (aka god's waiting room)

Actually, I'm in the planning stages on a www.mrccfl.com sponsored event at Sebring International Raceway. Sort of like MADS but at a different and world-famous track. Not that there's anything wrong with VIR mind you...but with all the RX7's in Florida, we need to have a major and national event down here. The back straight is so long you can practically top your car out. I've sat on the back wall and watched as Audi R8's blow by inches from me at 200+, sucking the wind out of my lungs. :-)
But I digress...

Road Atlanta would be another great course, but I'd love to have one where I didn't have to drive 15 hours to attend :-)

Compare HP and torque from 3000-5000rpm!!!

This is Brooks old car now owned by Brian Dowling that made 337.4 at 12.5 psi...pretty much the same as mine for peaks:

Manual boost controllers are not as nice as electronic ones...esp. if you have a datalogit and have attempted to tune out the transition drop.

I just wanted to chime in regarding the discussion of the 850cc primaries. I had a machine shop mill some off the top of my spare primary rail, the 850's slid in a seated fine with just one stock o-ring. I still have yet to re-install the UIM and downpipe (unrelated repair), and I am installing a new front sway bar while the car is in the air.. so hopefully by next weekend I can try and tune in the 850's with the PFC through the commander, wishing I had a datalogit right now.

Matt,

That IS the best way to do it...mill it down about 2-3mm. I put them back in with a smaller "backup" O-ring that works fine.

Maybe I got lucky with my 850/1300's but I did not have any transition problems. I didn't have to use the datalogit to fix anything.

GL!

I would say closer to 2mm or 1/8" max, I had a bit more taken off and the injector cap (whatever that is called) doesn't seat on the top of the rail unless I tighten the screws down really hard. But that is what the top o-ring is for! What do you mean by backup o-ring? I just used the upper and lower o-rings like you would see on an 850 from the secondary rail.. we'll see what happens when I pressure test it tonight.

Matt,

How did the pressure test go? Fine I bet.

The extra O-ring (half the thickness of the lower one, thiner than the top one too) backed up the lower O-ring. It made it such that putting on the retention cap, I actually had to push the injectors down...they snugged up right away.

Danke. I got logs of a 12.5 second first time run at the track too! I'll add that in when I get it graphed.

How in the hell are you making so much more torque than him down low? looks to me like his primayr turbo was either boosting less or just not working well. Or do you just have it tuned much better down there?

My gut tells me more split down low helps bottom end torque and spooling.

Badog - also, was the graph from one of the "Howard, drive it like you stole it dyno runs?" (might have helped pre-spool the turbos for that nice torque curve down low...)

K-man,

I dunno. I'll call the dyno manufacturer back and ask them. I got an answer about it today, but I am not too clear understanding the physics of them just saying "no."

Edit: I found the 10psi dyno chart...it was not a "stolen" run and it had the same torque curve.

Here is the dyno sheet. I had learning problems with the AVC-R. First run was still learning. Second run about 5 minutes later built boost....10psi.

And someone I know whose car was very much like mine. My "brother" car:
