2.5mm apex seals?

2.5mm apex seals?

I made a post reply in another thread, but there's been no replies to it yet so I'll make a new thread about it.

With the big debate between using 2mm and 3mm apex seals in a high powered rotary, I was thinking "Why not use 2.5mm seals?" There are shops that make them, and many shops will custom made apex seals to whatever size you want. You would still need the rotors machined of course, not as much though. I can't see any problem with it not working. Seems like a good compromise between 2mm and 3mm. You get some advantages of both.

True. There is also a bit of wear inside the grooves of the rotor which machining could get rid of. It's just that 3mm seals are so common. That's the most likely reason why they're used as often as they are in '86 and later engines.
