1st gen trans in a turbo2
yeap, since this is rotary performance and there is two series to be talk about, i decide this is a good place to post my topic.
i have a built tranny for a 13b - na for a first generation RX-7, it has close gear ratios built for qaurter mile, short throw, 4 speed manual. i couldn't let this beautiful creation go, and plus it was free! so i was wondering would it fit into a second gen chassis? i might not put it in my turbo second gen though, because close gear doesn't let turbo boost too good, longer the gears the more the turbo spools, so that's a no no, but i want to make good use of this tranny. prolly use it for a first gen.

Definately not a good turbo tranny for exactly the reasons you gave plus it has a smaller diameter output shaft than a TII tranny.
Other than that the starter bolts up different as well as the rear tranny mount. Neither of those pose much of a problem though.
When you convert an auto to a manual you have to make a rear mount to do that switch as well.
It would be a good tranny to run in all-motor class. There is a lot of them available for when you do break
