1600cc Install into LIM???

Guys,

How do you install the Ford 1600cc injectors into a 1988 Turbo II??

The yellow body of the injector hits the diffuser in the LIM. How do you get around this. I was told that this was pretty much drop in.

I was also refered to BDC pictures but trying to mimic his it seems like mine will still not fit nicely like the stock ones did.

Do I trim the the yellow lip? Do I cut out the orange grommet??

I already cut out the green o-ring and tried to install the stock "new" grommets but like I said no go

Any help or pictures will be greatly appreciated since I have been staring at these for two weeks.

Thanks
Ian Skacel

This link works:

On my 1600s, I removed the entire bottom pintle cap and o-ring, and replaced it with a generic Bosch one. Then the standard rx7 grommet fits.

you can leave the bottom part alone, trim the top and put spacers on the rail. I did it this way and no leaks. It looks kinda funny though because you can see the o-ring on the bottom of the injectors, people will do double takes
