That's pretty good for an N/A!
I know some guys here in their TII's that don't run that fast!
Keep up the good work!

It's hard to tell who won on that vid. Bad angle I guess? What did you run that time anyways?

Slap on a turbo and you'll really fly!

dont take this the wrong way, but i ran 10.2 1/8th mile at 67.
when i went to the 1/4 mile track, i ran 16.1 at 83 with a 10.39 1/8th mile.

that was in my old car, it was a 87 base model with a k & N drop-in ONLY. i think your car can run much better than 16.2.

That's sweet! Especially considering that your 6-ports aren't working.

Killer light and 60', too...

You probably will! Every N/A FC I've seen with WORKING ports was slower than that... and you had two ports tied behind your back so to speak...

thanks, i'm going to run again atleast one more time. its tempting to put my FD drag radials on the back but i'm not sure if they will fit. they will probably slow the car down. i hope like every other time i've gone i don't break anything more videos to come of course, hopefully beating something this time

You should be able to go MUCH faster with the six ports open. In my 84' 12A With header, K-n-N my best time was 16.7.

Good Luck!

Ya vosko I was pretty impressed with that mustang GT run. Did the GT have any mods at all? How much did you end up losing by anyways? With good 6 ports you prolly would have ran him pretty good. With your 89 what is wrong with the 6 ports, are they just stuck from buildup and being old or what?

i got beat by 1.2 seconds but with my launch prolly only half a second. my six ports were stuck closed due to previous owner being an old lady and not driving the damn car. i hope to get my six ports fixed completely, new suspension installed, and 4.3 LSD this week, but we'll see what happens

I'm rebuilding an '83 12A and find myself a little dissapointed that stock 1st gens only do about 17 sec. 1/4 mi. My 4500 lb, 5.3L, 285hp, unmodded Chevy extended cab pickup is supposed to do around 16.5sec@80mph. I suspect my wife's Buick would be comparable with its 3.8L 200hp; the truck feels faster though.

I guess power to weight is everything when it comes to 1/4 mile times. If all I want it speed, I guess I'll go for the bridgeport and 650 Holley or just drop in a TII. After driving my truck around the track at Hallett one race weekend, plowing front tires squealing around the corners at 30mph, I know which would go faster there.

I wanna go faster and the Rx is an RX.
