13BT built for aviation use
Here is a 13BT built by Bruce Turrentine for an airplane. Note the propeller reduction drive unit.
This is one of my goals is to build a kitplane with an NA streetported 200hp rotary. I guess you would call it "airported", lol. Photo courtesy of rotaryaviation.com.

that's an old 13B with a RA PSRU on it, prety much the original way to run a rotary for aviation.. we've come along way since th. Pports, tunned headers and intake runners, advanced cooling ducting and setups for various aircraft. Even single rotor conversions for ultra lights. At the moment we're working on two things, 4 rotor setup and alloy 2pc. irons.
Most of the users are looking at 298-330 hp Pport as having acceptable looses at 8000ft., at least no ones conplained about it.. but a normalizing turbo would be great for some of the larger , higher flying aircraft outthere.

Heck I just want a low wing two seater with a high sea level power to weight ratio! Rotaries rule for the high rpm smoothness and reliability and their size and shape makes them ideal to fit under aircraft cowlings. I could live with a few thousand feet per minute climb rate.

This ones in a Long E Z. I fitted a T66 to it but the owner wants more power. Its already overpowered and way over weight.

^ that remindes me of a local Glasair with some turbine swap done to it. It has the longest ugliest nose and the guy needs a video camera mounted in the cowl opening to be able to taxi (with tri gear).

jeeze a long ez with a T66.. and he wants more powere?? I'd step away from that guy fast.. temm him to get a new airframe like a diamond if he wants to cruise at 350mph.. i'd like to see what kind of exhaust and manifold matierial your going to use for this.. I've found that a move to 321 is required for a 2 rotor and a std, stage 5 t04e 54 trim. I've been trying to lay my hands on titanium becuse it's almost cheaper then Inconel and not really anyharder to work with.
We found that moving from a 9cyl radial to a 4 rotor, in measuremnt anyway at the moment would be no different for visability

rotaryaviation.com might have some. The rotary conversion is pretty established in the homebuilt aviation community. People have been using them in RV-4's and gyroplanes for years!
