HI ,I WAS WONDERING IF SOMEBODY CAN HELP ME OUT WITH THIS,MY CAR IS A RX7 T2 1988,I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS A 1999
SUBARU IMPREZA AWD TURBO WITH AROUND 230HP.
THIS GUY WANTS ME TO RACE HIM IN A 1/4 MILE.I DONT WANT TO LOOK LIKE A FOOL SO I WANTED TO KNOW YOUR OPINION.
MI MODS ARE JAPAN SPEC ENGINE,UPGRADED ECU,XS BLOW OFF VALVE,AIR FILTER,3INCH FULL RACING EXHAUST (HOME MADE ),BOOST GAUGE, MANUAL BOOST CONTROL,I AM RUNNING
16PSI MAX .DO YOU THINK I HAVE A CHANCE.I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT KIND OF HP I HAVE WHAT DO YOU THINK ,I HOPE AT LEAST 230. THANK YOU .

 

at 16psi you will blow him away with equal drivers. however I have no idea how you are running that high with only an ecu mod. how long have you been running like this?? this setup should not last longer then a week before blowing the engine!

 

My buddy had a mint 87 T2 with racing beat exhaust, nothing else. Boosted 10 psi and ran a 13.80 letting of at the end of the 1/4. at 10 psi you will be quicker. above that you WILL noticealby be faster. Only thing that car has is hook.

 

I USUALLY RUN 10PSI ON THE STREET ,ONLY WHEN I DRAG I USE 16PSI I ALSO PLAY AROUND WITH THE AIR METER TO GIVE BETTER FUEL DELIVERY . I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS NO PROBLEM , MY NEXT MOD IS TO INSTALL A FIFTH INJECTOR IN HE INTERCOOLER,WHAT DO YOU THINK

 

Make sure you run at LEAST 1/8 but its much better to run 1/4. Your car if running right should be MUCH faster, he has a mid 14 second car at best, probably more like a 15 second car.

The reason you'll need to run close to 1/4 mile is he will hole shot you if he's a decent driver and prob pull 2 cars on you in 1st gear alone. You'll need room to real him in and destroy him.
