13b Rebuilting

I'm putting this link in here cause i wanna understand the inter workings of a 13b engine and i belevie that anyone who feels like me should try it .
so just for kicks i'll give this website

http://www.rotaryaviation.com/

was browsing around and found that website which seems strange, honestly didn't know that they put rotory in airplanes :-p anyways yeah i found some rebuilt videos, so far only two but looking harder and harder, cause as soon as i swap my engine i'm going to rebuilt my other one, just to do it and see if i can get it to run nicely .

http://www.rotaryaviation.com/overhaul_video.htm

If anybody is interested, I can make some short videos of my work. It's nothing professional, just a man working on his engine and parts.

I'm going to capture some polishing footage (already got the UIM looking decent). I'll have a little footage on porting (not much since most of it is done). Finally, some footage on rebuilding the engine as well as some footage on replacement of engine in an FD chassis.

The narration will probably suck since I've been busy with work and don't feel as excited about explaining stuff.

If you ordered the Turrentine video from Atkins or RotaryAviation, you ordered the best there is. Follow the tape carefully, and you will do a good job of rebuilding your engine. He also talks about removing and replacing the engine.

Before you do anything, go shopping.......get Sharpies, masking tape, labels, and lots of plastic bags. Label EVERYTHING!

Have fun

I use muffin trays and label the it for small bolts (size, number of bolts, and location). Big plastic baggies for big bolts and brackets and what not.

I'm not sure how much benefit will come about with my video since it's on a single turbo set-up (less vacuum lines).

yep the one from rotory was very nice indeed, however need to watch it couple more times to get in down pat. also it does not cover engine install, so you guys know this. they offer another video on that (Replacing the engine) all in all nice movie, just grab some pop corn and watch looking to get the other video as well.

also in the performance part of the video it was talking about taking a 87 intermediate section and placing it on to replace the 89-92 engine intermediate section, which will give a port job by default. anyone have anymore info on this???? i was kinda hung up on that. it was nice to know what's different about those two engines tho

I use underground telephone cable wire if I have a lot of things to mark. The stuff has about a zillion wires that are all color coded.
It is one of those things you need to find when you really are not needing it though. If you see a phone burying crew you can get them to cut off some for you.
I cut strands in half and wrap one on the hose and the other where it goes.
When I take them off later I twist the matched pair together. It works for me anyway.

Thanks Scalli, that's a great tip. Tape labels can fall off, ink can smear and pencil is hard to read when dirty.
