Surprised! Raced a BMW roadster

So I was coming home from work today in Huntington Beach, just cruising on PCH. I'm about 1\3 away from home and I see one of those special BMW Z4's I forgot what they are called but there were a limited run on them. The profile of the car almost looks like a shark or a boat and has slits for taillights. The driver is this attractive red headed woman, probably in her early to mid 30's and some older guy that looks like her father. We're both stopped at a light and she's in the lane next to me. We're about 3 cars back from the actual light so there is no real clear lane. Her lane though is the right turn lane, but people can still go straight to continue on the street. Usually a lot of people make that right, I"m assuming she knows this because she continues on through the light, her lane clears up because of all the people making the right. At this moment she's right next to me. All of a sudden I hear the roar (and I do mean roar) of her engine and her tires squealing. I'm like "wtfzomg???.... That things sounds crazy..." As I'm thinking this she pulls away QUICKLY!. I down shift into 2nd and make chase going around the cars infront of me. The lane that we were in merges about a couple hundred feet after the light so we both merge and I'm behind them. She gives me a quick glance in her rear view and gives me a smile that could melt butter. 'wow sexy' I'm thinking. 'she can drive and looks good'. We then cut through traffic (mind you it's light) to get some open space. I'm the first to get an open lane. I know she's trying to get past the cars that she's stuck behind. I wait for her to get clear and get a next to me. We're probably at about 30mph then we both gun it. I get a little bit of a jump on her but not by much and pull away b a r e l y, but for the most part it's pretty much even. We do a full more pulls like this and eventually we slow down because of a light and she pulls up next to me w/ that smile and the guy next to her (we'll call him her father) is grinning like crazy they both give me thumbs up, as do i to them. She says "You have a nice car, it's very fast." I asked em how much hp they've got she said something like 450 hp (please let me know if this is correct) I'm like "wow that is freaking crazy in a little roadster like that!" They both smile. They asked me how much I had, I'm like I have no idea I just had the motor built recently. I can see them both go "oooh that's why..." LOL. The father is tells me that he also has a 66 plymouth w/ about 450 hp also. (man i love restored cars) We'll the light turns green we both wave and give each other a thumbs up and drive off civily, like nothing happend =). She goes the same direction I'm going for a bit and they both give me a final wave, I honk as they go by and wave. *Sigh why couldn't I have been about 10 years older?

*updated It's called an Z8 Alpina. Ok so i'm reading up on it and it makes like 375. Still not too bad for a little roadster, that's a good amount of power

Yes, big difference b/t a Z8 and Z4. The Z8 is a looks much better in my opinion. I thought a stock Z8 was pushing about 394bhp, same as the last generation M5. I'd expect an Alpina version to make 400+.

The new M version of the Z4 should be give a decent run with its 330bhp version of the M3 motor. Low 13 second car.

Grandpa may have been sugar daddy.

I had sort of the same kind of experience with a M3 series of the Z4. I was pretty amazed that I didn't pull on this, we were basically dead even with me barelly inching slowly away.

I have a dp, intakes, straight pipe, exhaust, power fc, and a race/street ported motor. Need to get it dyno tuned though it's just tuned to run. I want to find out wut kinda hp I'm putting out. I raced my bosses is350 and destroyed him. So I'm guessing well above 300hp, although to the wheels i'm not sure.
