That's a good vid. Very entertaining. That 7 does look faster in the corners but the Supra definitely has the advantage in the straight. They catch up to some pretty cool cars there too.

I would say the supra probably has between 480-540 rwhp. Most supra guys go with small fast spooling turbos if they are into auto cross or whatever you want to call that. Usually though these turbo put out around 500 to the wheels.

Damn, cant believe its been 2 years since i watched this video.

Looking at it again makes me believe that the FD was better in corners (no surprise) and the supra was over speeding into the corners which resulted in the FD always taking him at those moments.

Supra was clearly a faster car on the straight. I wonder what is the setups on both cars. Someone should post that.

Why do people have that misconception about the supras?

Supras can HANDLE.

It put up same, if not better numbers on the G pad, and in every aspect of their test BACK IN THE DAY, was up to par with the FD. They were dead even.

ONly thing the FD has an advantage over the supra is WEIGHT.

And in this case doesnt really matter unless you're on a technical course with many turns.

Say if you're on tsukuba circuit. I believe it would be dead even between a STOCK FD and a STOCK supra. Thats a good track to work on.

Very true, for some reason people dont think Supras can handle with the best of them. I drove a TT and the thing was beautiful around turns, it just felt a bit bigger and heavier than my 7. Then you look at the speedometer and it hits you that you're doing the same speeds around corners as you'd be doing driving the 7.

I just think they're ugly so I wouldn't get one personally.

I think supra's are really cool cars but I dont think if anyone had a choice and was gonna race around a track they would pick the supra over the 7. Ofcourse it's not that simple, one may look at it in terms of reliability or power. I think if the 7 had the reliabilty of the supra it would get much more respect from people and this debate wouldnt be here.

Honestly though would you guys really pick the supra over the fd only considering only handling? I wouldnt. Why do cars like the fd and s2k's rule the touge and not bigger cars like the skyline and supras? Hell even the r35 got beat by the fd in the touge. I understand not all tracks are as tight as those on the touge tracks but isnt that what would test handling?
I do think it is unfair people say supra's cant handle, they can but it will always follow for a "big car"

Why do supra's never make the best handling cars of all time lists?

Now you're disecting the subject for no reason.

This is not a FD vs supra debate. I was just pointing out why do people think supras CAN NOT handle, when in fact they can.

Supras arent picked for track cars because they have engines that can make a ton of power. We live in america. We're all about drag racing, we're known for that. Maybe not you, maybe not the other person but we, in general, are known for straight line racing.

These topics always result in the same pattern. About how FD's are handlers. We know that. But you forget that probably 75% of FD owners, DONT track the car.

If i had to make a track only car, id get an elise.

If i wanted a car that can whip *** on the highway, drive to work next day, go cruise that same night, then go to the track on the weekend, i'd go with a supra.

I chose the FD because of its uniqueness and i dont need alot of hp. YET. I am planning on buying a supra very soon though, just to fulfill those needs.

I thought the FD and supra had the pulled the same Gs because the FD had really poor stock tires.

I considered the supra ones. They are really cool cars but they are also boats.

have you driven both? the FD just feels like a track car, almost like a street legal indy car. The Supra doesnt have bad handling but IMO its not up to par with an FD
