Soon to be 490rwp rx7 vs 600rr
I just got my car tuned and its running nicely. My friend has a 600rr with an exhaust and intake. He wants to race me tonight, so i accepted his challenge. I need to find a camcorder, or at least a digital camera to record a vid for everyone to watch. I think we are going to do a 60 punch, because i get no traction in 2nd, and 3rd gear my car still spins at 7k rpm. I think I should pull on him. He has been in my car and knows its fast, but keeps saying "i dont think its THAT fast" in compairison to the bike. We will see
Stay tuned for a video later tonight so long as he doesnt chicken out!!

You'll get him if it's a 600. I think a friend told me he pulled on an R6 in his Supra - his supra is auto, stalled, and dyno'd 430ish on low boost (16-18psi), but he ran the bike on high boost (26+psi).
I say, if you are anywhere in the deep 400's, you got him.

You're probably going to put 2-4 cars on him depending on how high you take it, assuming you hold traction on these cold *** roads. Remember to brake boost and you'll pull on him instantly otherwise you'll have to reel him back in. Good luck!

supras weigh about 400 more punds then the Zo6 you raced, I would need to see a video to believe your R6 beat a new one easily. Plus a new Zo6 has way higher top end then your bike, so I really doubt that your bike could win that race.

Wish I still had that bike, it was a lot of fun, just too dangerous around here.

In a week or so, he's going to run another R6 from a dig and I'll be in the car getting video and I'll post then..
Bad news, i just got off the phone with my friend and the dealership couldnt get the tires on today. Should be on tomorrow is what he said
I will definately post the vid once i race him. He is going to sell the 600rr to a friend, and buy the new 1000rr or r6, so i should have a few good races comming up. Stay tuned.

race him till the end of 4th at least so you can really do a number on him..

edit: also a stock r6 can run 11 seconds easily
and no ive never seen a bike at the strip, im sure theyre faster
im gonna have to go with merlin on the r6

With sprockets and a lowering link, no engine work or anything, they got my model R6 to do 9.9x in the 1/4. Granted that was with a pro rider, but I'm just saying it's possible. Most good R6 riders pull mid 10's with the newbies running low 11's. 60ft. times are normally low 1.7's, so yes, even 600cc bikes can move.
Like I said, there will be video. I'm not going to argue based on info from a professional rider in Shitville, USA since ANYTHING can happen on the street.
I've seen bikes at the strip. A few buddies actually own 1300cc Hayabusa's and a turbo R1.
One thing I will say about the Supra though, it was built for Drag and even at low boost settings, it has taken out 11 second cars on the street.. and yes, they hook.. gotta love those Built auto/stalled, full suspension, M&H Racemaster'd Supra's.
He beat my friends GTO which ran a 11.6 at 120mph with a 1.8 - 60' and got him out of the hole by 1.5-2 cars and pulled 3 more up top on lower boost.
I'm also sure the comment "he dyno'd 4XX hp with low boost, now he's running higher boost" also flew right above you... 8-10PSI in mostly any boosted car (specially one with a T71, AEM EMS) will make a dramatic difference..
