Yeah, the shift boot weighed about 8 ounces. Actually, I was having problems with the shifter so I kept it off for a while and then lost it. It's a plastic piece that can't way more than 1/2 a pound. If it makes you and the others feel better, I'll put that plastic piece back in along with my seats and then I'll have a FULL INTERIOR in all of about 20 minutes. Full glass, carpeting, dashboard, ABS, power windows, powder door locks, sunroof, etc, etc. Trust me, if I really want to "gut" this car out, I could take out another 300-400 pounds easy, but then it goes from a quick street car to a slow race car.

Removing roughly 400lbs is considered "moderate" weight reduction in S4s? Are your seats made of lead?

Right now it's a little over 3000 and my best trap this season is the 121 (see the middle video). I'm running K04 turbos from the European RS4. They're still kinda small, but they're great turbos for the street. Thanx for the props. Later.

Good times.

So you can drop virtually 400 lbs in 20 minutes?? Again, what are your seats made of?
Also, according to this page, second post down, here you are telling everyone about your mods and lightening:
http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=245804&page=3
And I quote:
Actually, I've taken the majority of the weight out from the front of the car: Lighter battery, lighter crank pulley, aluminum flywheel, no air conditioning, carbon fiber hood, etc. The rest of it is pretty much in the middle of the car, like the brakes, wheels, seats, exhaust, etc. Not exactly sure on the torque bias but I do know the aftermarket makes a bunch of different Torsens for the road racing guys. I haven't done much in the way of road racing with this car so I haven't looked into it much. As you can probably see, I've become more and more interested in street racing and drag racing lately. I just think it would be really cool to get an Audi S4 into the 10's without nitrous or any serious modifications. Stock bottom end, stock heads, stock cams, stock K04 turbos, etc. I know it's gonna be tough, but I think it can be done.
So you can put the AC, hood, seats, crank pulley, OEM battery, etc back on in 20 minutes? Bravo!!

Full glass, carpeting, dashboard, ABS, power windows, powder door locks, sunroof, etc, etc. Trust me, if I really want to "gut" this car out, I could take out another 300-400 pounds easy, but then it goes from a quick street car to a slow race car.
Another 300-400lbs on top of the 400lbs you already took out of the car? So if i'm following you correctly you can "gut" your 2000 S4 down to about 2600-2700lbs? As in FD territory 2600-2700lbs?? With an S4?

Also, slowing down to sub 40mph rolls or dead stops on the highway is the single most dangerous and unintelligent thing I have ever heard. Nice S4, nice times, shame on you for not using your head

p.s. please keep the .Net shytestorm from spilling over onto this forum.....

You can't compare boost on a 2.0L 4 cylinder piston engine to boost on a rotary. It's completely different. Many people with EVOs and DSMs run over 20psi boost and it's not a big deal. Different story with rotaries, you guys make more power with less boost for some reason....? 15psi is a lot for most of you guys - EVOs run 19psi stock.
