Talking Single FD vs Grand Am

Sometimes these are the most satisfying kills to me. I know I shouldn't bother, but I just get tired of people who think they have fast cars. There is really nothing to brag about.

We were at the light. He kept looking over and revved, then popped it back into drive. So I tried to ignore him at first but he kept inching forward and looking over. So upshot is I roll off the line, while he gives it all he's got. While I waited for my boost to kick in he got about a car length on me. Needless to say it was all over once I hit boost; we're talking bus lengths.

My question is am I wrong for feeling better about this kill than a race with another fast car? I suppose I just feel like I put a dumbass back in his place, and therefore, it is a greater victory. Maybe in doing so I became the dumbass for "racing" a slow car.

I dunno, I guess, this is less of a kill story and more of a request for opinions.

I agree, there are way too many grand am owners that think their car is the ****, I see it all the time around here actually. Nice kill regardless

There is this kid that works with me that went out and bought a 2004 Grand Am SE and he thinks he can beat my stock 93 FD. I'm tempted to race him just to show him how fast these cars really are. Way to kick that dudes *** and show him whats up, i would of done the same. I feel good about those kills too.

yea it was definitely the new body Grand Am. I am not familiar with the models so I didn't want to call out a year.

i just feel like it is ok, because i am showing someone their place on the food chain, so to speak.

it makes me feel better to know I am not the only one that gets drawn into racing dumbasses.

He sought you out right? It might be a little different if you were seeking him out knowing you could beat him, and badly as you pointed out, but since he sought you out, why not? He obviously needed to learn something about his car and you were able to teach him something about his car.

Sounds like he also needed to learn a little bit about the FD.

you know that is what i wonder. i am a pretty big car buff, and am normally aware of what a car is capable of in both stock and modded form. most people don't seem to have that knowledge.

I had a local kid in a Escort ZX2 with a body kit and can rev at me while I was driving downtown. He rolled up to a stoplight, I didnt even look at him (he's ugly anyways) and he floors it, baby squaks his tires and takes off. I ***** foot the clutch and eventually pass him in second. The same thing happened in the next two stoplights. He said his ignition was fucked, I looked in his car at his painted interior and automatic shifter .

Some people...

Good kill, way to show dem foos.

I couldn't agree more. I never look for races against anybody, but if some front wheel drive car that made an appearance in some fast and the furious movie tries to show me up, I'm going to put it to him. I obviously don't get even close to hitting 100, but I don't need to; by the time I hit 70 I'm already a few bus lengths ahead.

My favorite story is when I was driving back to school in New York from Florida this year over spring break. I was enjoying the weather cruising at 65 and this VW Golf with a bodykit and decals (which I hear lower air resistance over the surface of the vehicle ) decides to come right up on my bumper and change lanes to come up next to me. He holds even with me while I refuse to look over. He tries lurching forward a little bit to get my attention and then finally honks his horn. I look over and see some 16 or 17 year old with his girlfriend (or probably sister) in the passenger seat. I blow her a kiss and then downshift as I wait for the astonished look to leave her face and finally smile at me... dude gets pissed, honks his horn and on the third honk I was gone.

I punked his car and his girlfriend had a sex dream about me that night... I felt better.

its a fresh motor, new turbo, & good tune. i wasn't worried about blowing the motor. however, your point is taken. why put the wear and tear on the motor? i would say, because it was satisfying.

on a side note. i like punking guys with their girls in the car, too. personally, i never race with my girl in the car....just in case.

i figure if you instigate, you ask for what you get.

last summer a kid in a 2 door automatic green grandam with a annoying fart pipe kept trying to race me all over town at every stop light, i just basiclly ignored him for the most part and casually drove from each slowly while he took off at full speed every time.

we finally got to the last stop light before leaving town towards the Highway and i decided to teach him a lesson, so when the light turned green i let him have a good look of my tail lights.

a few days later i was on the highway driving behind a friend when green grand am boy decides to try to race my friend's ford focus, grand am boy takes off and my friend couldnt give a damn because their both in slow cars anyways so i decide to pick on the grandam.

i take off after grandam boy and get right next to him, i look at his window, smile, than i take a bite out of my borrito and drive past him like he wasnt there

Grandam and dodge avenger owners seem to think they have the fastest cars on the road.

What's the point of having a fast car if you never drive it fast?

Well, I believe that sometimes people need to be reminded of their place on the food chain. And the comment about Avenger owners is so true its sickening. I shot a flame at one that was trying to race me and a buddy that was with me. It went a good 3 feet in every direction from the back of my car which was...at his window. for me it was the automotive equivalent to "bitch, please".

I had a G/A as my first car and I had no misconceptions about it's speed, or lack thereof, so I don't know why this dumbass did. WTF was he thinking? Anyway, nice kill Josh.

Whats wrong with horsing around in a truck? I do it all the time, altho I wouldnt be so stupid as to approach a 7 in any other manner than submissive. I do however use the truck to stop on all the craptastic little ricers with giant wings.. I like the looks on their face when a fullsized truck blows their doors off.

I've done the same sipping on coffee or other soft drinks, then put the drink back in the "right leg-center console" cup holder

Grandam and dodge avenger owners seem to think they have the fastest cars on the road.
The same can be said about FD owners

I have more problems with HonDuhs annoying me then anything else around here. Oh wait, I forgot about all the rednecks in pickup trucks.
dude, same here. It seems like when the highway is wide open g35s, stis, camaros, whatever doesn't want to do ****. But when i'm sitting in traffic with the 7, then all of a sudden there's all these idiots with honduhs, dumb *** pickups trucks that think they're the **** cause they got v8 & flowmasters, and every other fool revving their motors at me. Pathetic.
