SHO Vs Ricer

I deicided to post this because I thought it was funny enough (to me) to post.

Yesterday I went to Sabin with a friend (a local track) and spent most of the day there, he was sick of driving his del Sol, so I drove that back for the two hour drive. He dropped me off at my car and I decided to take the long way home which is cruising down Paul Bunyan Drive in Bemidji. I got into the cruise and my little cousin called. I picked it up and bullshitt'd with him.

When in regular Bemidji fashion, my ricer radar catches a 2nd generation Talon with a can, chromes, and an aftermarket (unpainted) front bumper. The car looked kinda rough, which isn't a big deal since the PO of the SHO hit a deer and my car didn't exactly look **** either.

So we are driving along, me on the phone and ricer on the hunt, hit a stoplight going into a 90 defree. I didn't really think too much of him, but he floors out out the hole. Just to mess with him I floor it (starting a car behind and in the straight) and just rip by him. SHO 1, Talon 0.

I go back to talking to my little cousin and continuing my cruise, secretly wishing my RX-7 wasn't in storage and under the knife.

The ricer stays near my car for another few blocks and we hit another light. I realized then (after hearing it's queer muffler for the last 4-5 blocks) that's it an auto. I noticed he doesn't torque it up or anything at the light, so I just figured that he learned my family car had more nuts (maybe 3 of em) then his car. The light turns green and he floors it again, squeeking his tires in fury. I wait until he gets next to me and I push the gas pedal to the floor, I feel my car downshift into first and I rip another 4-5 cars ahead of him (SHO 2, Ricer 0) and shut down, as my turn is up ahead.

I make the turn and he follows. At this point I get off the phone so I can do my illegal thing with some concentration. We both turn and he's off! This time I waited until he was a car or so ahead and punched it at 45, I rip by him (SHO 3, Ricer 0), putting his lights in the rearview mirror again. I shut down at 100 and go back to 70 and am cruising on the highway again. But the nicer wouldn't have any of me driving home. He gets behind me and I can his auto downshift, he gets another car and a half, but this time I was in fourth and it only let me go to 3rd, so I start at something dumb like 3.5k, but it seemed to be enough by 5k I was passing him, 6k I had 3 cars, by 7k (my redline) I just didn't care anymore to count (SHO 4, Ricer 0). I shut down at 110 with him a mile back. I came back to 70 and put on my cruise control. The ricer rips by, drives 100MPH for 5 miles and turns off.

It was one of the weirded nights of having a kid come after me that many times. Maybe he thought I had a regular Taurus and he just couldn't beleive it.

Anyways, SHO modifications (if they even count)
Air silencer removal and Kool blue filter,
94 Tranny and D4U1 computer,
Modified ECU for firmer shifts
187k on the motor, 29k on the transmission, 89 octane.

Thanks, enjoy the read.

That's great... I feel the same way every day when I see some kid trying to hot rod whatever he drives or when I see another 7 or an actual fast car that I'd like to run... Can't do it in the SHO, where's the FD when I need it?!
