Talking rx7 1 vs dodge stealth 0

So I was driving home from my buddies house on saturday night around 1sh in the morning.....I ended up driving by two cars, the first one looked like a riced out cavalier (u know stock everything except a huge wing and fart can on the back) didnt really think anything of it...and the 2nd one I came up on was a dodge stealth. It was pretty dark so I didnt see if it had the R/T badge on the back. As I slowly passed I heard his blow off as he tried to keep the same speed. I guess he was feeling out the car but I decided to initiate the 1st run (especially since Ive been itching to race a 3000gt vr4 or dodge stealth turbo). We went on the third honk from third and instantly I pulled about a car on him at the end of third...it didnt seem like he was ready so I slowed down got next to him and we decided to drop it to second (40mph run). I honked this time but before I went I waited a second to see his car budge and then I floored it. By the time I hit the end of third he was about 2 to 2 1/2 car lengths back. He was pretty cool about it when he flagged me down to stop and talk. He said that he had an intake downpipe blow off and one or two other mods but nothing major and he said he was pushing 14 to 15lbs of boost.

Oh yea my mods are here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/806146/2

Nice kill.

Have you ran it down the quarter mile?

I've been itching to race an FD.

Vr4 and the stealth are better from a dig. A race from 0 - 70 would have been different...

Yeah from a dig he probably would have had me. At least thats what I told him...but we didnt have time to go from a dig. No I have not ran the quarter yet. Ill probably do it in November. The closes drag that we have is an 1/8th.

What did you run @ island?? I was there in august, ran a 12.9.
The track itself is ok but its no E-town.
BTW, i've never run a 3kgt or stealth either...lol

Silver_7,
good kill.

My best run of the day was a 12.7. I was spinning pretty bad out of the hole though, 1.77 60' wasn't the best. I can't wait to go to E-town, I've been there once to watch but never to run.

Maybe when it warms up we could organize an E-town track day? That could be fun... haha

Absolutely! I'm definately gonna hit the track this year...if my primary turbo hadnt given up the ghost it would have been a pretty close race. Your awd gives you a big advantage off the launch, my best that day was a 2.0
I'll be around!

Nice, sounds like a plan! The AWD is good, but I should be seeing 1.7 flats and below as I get better at launching... with my trap and a better launch VR-4 people have been seeing ET's as low as 12.3... was your 2.0 on street radials? I should have a new turbo setup in by the time I take it out in the spring... should add to the fun. Are you gonna be replacing your primary or going with a different setup altogether?

Wow... talk about thread hijacking.

No kiddin' ; lol we just took over...

2.0 on Azenis 615...they should be grippy enough for me to pull a 1.8 - I bogged off the line taking it easy on the drivetrain.
I do have a somewhat fresh set of turbos i'm trying to swap(hopefully next week). I was tuned for 10 psi but because of the dying primary I only managed to hit target boost in 4th(too late to matter) so I ran 1st through 3rd on 5 psi on primary and 6 to 8 on secondary. With this new set i'm gonna max them out and see what that gets me...
I'm shooting for 400+ on the "new" setup. Just gotta get tuned for it. lets see.
