My friend just bought himself an evo 8 after me telling him all about how the rotary will destroy all cars and he should get an rx7... Needless to say we were on a (for some reason empty) 6 lane freeway. We slowed to 35, him in 3rd me in 2nd. On his third honk I gave it half throttle to see how much the evo pulled and then I floored it after he got a length on me. Hit 7500, doing 90, put half a car length between us easy. Then I shift to third and did a buck twenty and left him behind by 2 car lengths in a matter of seconds. With only 1 shift and about three blocks of distance it was fun.

Will get a video from a dig in a few days when my camera mount comes in the mail.

 

That's some interesting gearing you have. 90-mph at 7500-rpm in 2nd, 120-mph in 3rd.

Nice kill. Those evos can get pretty nasty on even stock frame turbos. I'm looking forward to the vids. Btw I'm gonna guess either your speedo is off or in kph, or you were just mistaken about your speeds.

120 on a bug sounds scary

 

^ yes it is a little too scary to do over and over.

I will post a vid of the MPH for you when I race again. My new cam mount ended up being so shaky in the race it was a blur... And It is a freeway flyer transaxle so it is really high geared and meant for a bug engine to drive on the freeway at low rpm. So with my non sequential turbos giving me zero lag I can really crank up the speed in no time, fast quarter mile times in the end
