Outcome: E46 M3 nitrous vs FD vs STi
I finally got to race this nitrous M3 tonight. You can find my previous post here https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/outcome-e46-m3-bottle-vs-my-fd-606659/
His mods: Headers, exhaust, pulley, chip, 4.1 gear + 150 shots, 3150lbs around 420 rwhp
MY mods: full bolt-ons, stock seq. twins running .91 bar tonight on my PFC.
We did a couple pulls from 60mph roll to around 120ish. I would be in my 3rd gear. 3 honks, and he would pull about 1/2 cars on me. I shifted to 4th and he would have about 2 cars on me till the top of my 4th gear and we shut it off with him about 3 cars length ahead. Same result 2 times...
We also did another pull in 2nd gear going around 40, and the result with him about 2 cars ahead at the top of my 4th gear.
The 3rd race was with a BPU STi around 330awhp as he was along for the joy ride, and decided to race me after my 2 loses. The M3 also lined up as we did from a 40 roll. 3 honks as the STi would jump about 1/2 to 3/4 car ahead. As I grab 3rd, I would reel him in about even, 4th gear, I would start to walk him and shut off about 120 with me about 2 cars ahead at the top of 4th. The M3 felt behind quick in my rear view as he was not on bottle this time.
I did another pull with the STi with the same result again as we all gave each other thumbs up and ended the fun tonight.
My impression on the outcome of the race was exactly what I expected. Nitrous M3 is definitely fast and the car is really really loud!! The STi suffers from the top end, but nontheless, not to taken lightly...
the seven broke even tonight with 1 lost and 1 win.
Video to follow if the guy in the m3 decides to post it.

Thanks, the gearing on the M3 definitely made the car much more superior for highway runs. I have seen him raced a 470 rwhp Cobra with the same setup, and he walked him more than my fd. I was very surprised at the outcome.

nice race, way to pull through on the sti, m3's are tough lil bitchs when there modded... most owners keep them stock...
get rid of the stock twins and you will be on cloud nine.
look forward to seeing future runs by your fd.

Price doesn't mean anything. There are Civics which run 9's and 10's in the quarter mile. Most of those would whip up on most FD's and are cheaper. Same situation, money doesn't matter; one car is faster than another. That doesn't necessarily make one better than the other, just simply faster.
