2000 GT-S and yes, it would most definitely do 142. You'd have to be smoking crack if you think you could take a 6-speed, 180hp, 2500lbs. car that does 15 flat in stock form. A GT is another matter entirely as they're 140hp which is more around where you're at.

I never said you'd put a boosted KA in it, I said I would. I don't know if they're a direct drop in but KA motors go for nothing, on my local board and craigslist there have been giveaways, S13 or S14. The engines have proven to be reliable even boosted and they make a decent amount of power too. You've probably heard this before but saying over and over that a 16.1 second car is faster than a 16.5 second car is like saying you're the smarter handicapped kid. I've grown past my MY SHITBOX IS FASTUR1! phase and don't compare my slow car to other slow cars. If I wanted a car to race other cars with (in a straight line) I probably would've bought a V8. Like I said I've been there and done that, its nothing but a pissing contest over who has more money to blow on their car.

True, KAs are cheap to pick up, but perform nothing like the SR20 when boosted. They're much weaker for one, but are still fun when modded (torque is good). Right on, so we can end this thread ? As much as I enjoyed arguing w/ everyone, I just wanted to get the point out that just because you don't like something and just because something isn't a RX-7, doesn't mean it's slow. I like my '87 FC just as much as my NX2000, if not more in some areas, and vice versa. Different cars have different things to offer.
