Ok, so I i'm on my way home from work when i decide i need some gas. I turn off the northway onto a straight stretch of rt 9.. All of a sudden i see HIDs coming up on me fast while i'm taking a leisurely turn onto rt 9. So i decide to go WOT in 1st and 2nd gear, then..i notice it's a toyota tacoma w/ wheels and exhaust, this guy shifts into 3rd gear and starts spinning the tires like he was still in 1st..while he was spinning I gained about a foot or two on him then it was lights out for me. he hooks up and leaves me ...since i'm behind him now, i see a tailgate down with the bottomside of a big blue bottle showing...oh no haha. i follow him into the gas station at about 30mph through the lot and he rips a full donut while stylishly backing into the spot all in one sequence... i get out and he looks pissed, we meet half way and he says "oh, i thought you were my buddy Steve, he has a NX too", i laugh and say...."I sold that car to him man" aha. Anyways, turns out he was running a tacoma w/ a TRD supercharger running 12psi and a 150 shot of NOS. Now i don't feel so bad seeing as though i got SMOKED, and yes..for some reason he did hit the NOS in 2nd and begginning of 3rd gear which is what had him sitting still spinning. either way it was funny to me seeing as though he had now raced 2 of my 3 NX's...

Yea, he def caught me by suprise. And as far as not even knowing what a NX2000 is...I'm not sure if that's even funny. More sad I think.....

"Better things" as in slower, less reliable vehicles and engine rebuilds ?.... Stock, the NX is faster than any stock NA FC. Not to mention far more rare than almost any RX-7..... but i'm glad you found something better If i may ask, what made you decide to get rid of the NX, and what's the "better" car ? I admit, they are "funny" looking, kinda egg-ish. But nothings funnier than smoking people that underestimate it (everyone that doesn't own one).

You really shouldn't be comparing the two vehicles in acceleration now, twisties on the other hand? Don't even start. that was although i think the nx2000 or whatever they are are indeed more rare because no one think they're a good performance car. is simple, comparing a rx7 with a nx2000 is like comparing a mkIV with a ford tempo and ill be lmao if someone comes telling the tempo is better than any mkIV out there.

According to Road & Track the 1/4 mile for the NX2000 is 16.1 secs not 15.8
Faster than the NA 7's slower than the TII's stock for stock.
Having several NX's in my autocross group I can say they are farely quick but take a good amount of work to get them handling right, they're really just rebodied Sentra SE-R's

Yep, a NX is a b13 se-r "re-bodied" . I know all about that seeing as though I have several NX's and a fully built b13 Se-r. I'm not saying the NX or Se-r is a Ferrari, but it's faster stock than a stock na FC. It's just the facts. I don't like people ragging on my car. Especially when you don't know **** about them. Every time I have this arguement, it takes an outside source saying that I'm right to shut up the other person. Sorry Khan about all the needless insults and what not, but you're just as bad talking **** about things you're extremely unfamiliar with. The numbers are there, and i'm right... Oh yea, did I mention that I own a FC ...? I'm not just talking out the ***, I have both cars and can make a legit statement about whats faster and all that. Not to mention i've also raced a n/a s5 several times, and he continues to lose ( he also happens to drive mini sprints at lebanon valley speedway, so it's not the driving)...Once again, i'm sorry about all the negative crap I said but, it really pisses me off when people speak from NO experience and just pride instead. And yes, they do need a "special formula" of suspension to handle like a RX-7, but then again the NX is FWD and doesn't have a 49 : 51 weight ratio.

Not to knock you down but I would bet good money an non-turbo RX-7 of the same year as your NX will pull on you from 30-100 rolling start type deal, and further would destroy you on any roadcourse in america.

How come you havn't swaped in a SR20DET motor like every other nissan freak?

Further, that TACO could have stomped you without the bottle. The TRD chargers make those trucks very fast (assuming they can manage to hook up) lol.

PS, I know the Tacoma would've won without the bottle, it's Super Charged..Did you notice I wasn't making excuses ? The truck was just way faster. Bro, ...a n/a FC is not pulling on me from any speed to any other speed...get it through the skulls, my car is faster. Christ. Why would it beat me at those speeds ? I already said the Rx-7 was a better car in twisties...I just don't understand how nobody can comprehend that it's faster. Rx-7's are great, they're a cult classic sports car, that's pretty rare and performs quite well for their age. Of course their cool mostly because of the Rotary engine and how unique it is. But don't get it twisted, there are plenty of just "average" cars that are faster. I obviously don't consider the NX2000 average by any means for several reasons which all of you know. But the fact remains it's faster. I'm not ragging on anything i've never owned. I speak from experience, not ignorance and it seems that's hard for a lot of people to deal with. This is just another case of "The Rx-7 Can't Lose".

whoa all i said is i'm glad i got rid of mine. and yer waaaay wrong on everything you said about me. my nx was a 1600. and even if it wasnt 5th gear goes in all those cars. in 6 months of owning it i got a flate, needed brakes, clutch died, tranny died, didnt get that great of gas mileage for how slow it was... so pretty much anything would be "better" now as far as my better thngs are concerned, my rx7 is undergoing a turbo engine swap. right now its not na, its not anything but a shell. the better thing i was refering to was actually my 93 240sx hb w/ sr20det blacktop. pretty sure ur nx would be in my rear view mirror there buddy. so before you lay into me find out what ur talking about, cuz if you still stand by ur statement then ur saying NX2000> sr20 240 AND rx7. so yeah...eat it

the argument really shouldnt be which car is faster...but which car is a better performance platform...cause really, 0.5 in a 1/4 isn't that much of a difference. who cares?

the rotary responds well to modifications, is RWD, great brakes and handling out of the box...and has classic looks to boot...not that it helps performance, but i don't drive a 80's firebird for a reason.

it direct competition to the 300zx...not the nx2000. different playing fields.

trying to defend a car against a forum full of enthusiasts is a lost cause my friend.

Grow up, if you wanted to rule the dragstrip you should've bought a 5.0. You're a confused car enthusiast, your name is "hondaeatr" and you have a 16 second beater *** NX2000 that you race trucks with and then you post about it on an RX7 forum. Maybe it hasn't occured to you that some of us actually like to DRIVE our ******* cars and not just hit the gas and shift gears. You have a LOT of growing up to do. Maybe I should take my dad's V6 Camry and wax you since you like to drag race so much, hahaha. I guess its a cool car because you can swap different motors, just being FWD its not on my cool projects list lol. If I wanted a low budget eco box I'd get a late 90s 2.slo GTI for that much money. An RX7 is at a completely different level than an NX2000, just becuase the NA's have a similar 1/4 time doesn't make them similar.
