Never race an SRT-4!
Besides the fact that the lower price tag and decent power puts them into the hands of idiots that have more often than not risked their lives to prove that their 2.4L Turbo is faster than my 1.8L n/a, you should also know that they are the fastest. Don't try to tell me otherwise!

I hope this isn't a repost. *crosses fingers*

I beat an SRT4 when his girlfriend was in the car with him, although I assume he gave up because his girlfriend was hitting him, he dropped his SRT into gear and started to gain on me till I dropped a gear and left him.. we were doing about 40 when we started.

I beat srt4's all the time.
Sure its "quick" for its price but all it is is a neon with a turbo. Its a pos car if you really think about it.
Some people can take a honda ek hatch shell for like 3k, put 5-10k worth of mods to it including the engine and you have a faster, better looking car than an srt4 and its cheaper.
So whats the point? That article is full of ****.

i thought the SAME way you did about the SRT-4. my brother bought one, i HATED the living **** out of it. got in it, felt the power, and that was that. changed the way i looked at that car in every prespective and driving it is a whole different feeling.
the car has good handling.
i don't judge a car on what it can do in a straight line, but what it can do in an all around course.
what "out-of-the-box" honda in its price range can compete with it, being in a straight line or road course?
i don't know how it's a POS car, "our" SRT-4 dyno'd in at 240whp/260trq with ONLY catback, no downpipe. those engines can take a serious beating, very well built in my opinion.

240WHP is no joke for stock. Especially when it's a sedan. Too bad it's FWD.
PS Crappy powered cars make up with good handlng. You don't see alot of GOOD handling from Vettes, Stangs (V8), etc. They have good power, but leaf suspension is teh suck.

SRT-4s are very nice low cost high fun cars, my good friend has one i'm not sure what he pushing but i know i have a blast driving it. for 20,000 for 240hp stock for a car with cheap upgrades the only thing the car lacks is the FR. but still with it being FF it's a blash just powering down the high way past people in $250,000 cars (miami has tomany 1/4 mill cars with people that don't know how to park there own car). but i would still take my beat up 75 hp gen 1 (been in storage for 5 years and is off the shop)

Race one from a stop. They suck right there. Good from a roll above 40 and thats about it. I driven them and I got a heavy right foot, and I really was not that impressed. The interior is ghey, seats are uncomfortable, the feel of the car sucked, all it was god for was carten the grocries, beating up on grandmas in there oldsmobiles, and not hooking up for ****.
Also drove the SS cobalt. Not a big fan of chevys but I liked it. The ecotech is a good platform to begin with and its smooth as glass through the whole powerband. Loved the interior, handling felt alot more firm and precise in the twisties, and it just looks better IMO.
Name a car that out of the ox could out run it. OK sure will three letters HSR. That or a Saleen Mustang Turbo 4 banger, or a turbo omni, or minivan, or alot of other things that are used that you can pick up for 1/4 of the price and out preform that car, and it did when they first made it.

the srt4 is no neon. Looks alone you can compare. Pretty impressive to have a car that fast for that much money. They are not slow, saying they are is ignorant. But 2 reasons why i would not buy them is 1.no matter what technically is a neon, 2 go test drive one. the plastic interior will **** you off. Still a fast as **** car for that much under 20k.

The srt4 as a chassis overall is NOT a neon.
BUT... I work at a dealership and when we got one they classified it as a NEON.

Wow did you even read my post. Go back to the 80s man. A turbo 4cyl mustang can run down a SRT4. I didnt say honda anywhere. And I wasnt really replying to your post inparticular

I think the SRT-4 as a car deserves much respect, theres no reason not to. Well modded those cars can hold 450whp all day long. Every car is going to have an idiot that drives it, it just so happens that the low price tag puts it in the hands of retards everywhere.

The whole point of the thread was to poke fun at the cars overall quality and issues, not really to make fun of or defend its performance. I don't think anyone can deny that they can be fast, but the original post was more of a satire.

Well **** I read it wrong. Sorry about that though it was 2 different posts. Lemmme think a honda that can run down the SRT4 for under 20k that could when it was new right. Ummmm B20 Jspec/Euro 4th gen accord perhaps its bout the only car that comes to mind with about that much power.
