My Z06 vs a 355 Modena

And the outcome wasnt the Ferrari.

I was getting on the freeway, and i was taking it easy this time, (Rather odd occurrence) and i see this sky blue Ferrarri thats coming up in the emergency lane. I can tell that he is on it hard so that he can get past me by the end of the ramp.

Not gonna happen. I dropped it back into 2nd around 60 and punched it. Car picked up and when i shifted into 3rd it bounced off the redline. By this time the Ferrarri was almost right next to me. At about 95 i shifted to 4th, and put the pedal down again, the Ferrarri instantly started dropping back. He chased me to about 140, and we both had to slow down for traffic. When the race was "over" he was about 3 cars behind me, and dropping back slowly. The look on his face was classic, when he pulled up next to me, and saw that i was just an 18 year old kid in a Vette. Gotta love that feeling.

(Note: It is a stock 2001 Z06 Corvette. 385 hp, 385 ftlbs. Nothing more nothing less)

It may have a higher price tag, and to some people "look" better aestheitcally. But I would rather have the power...

The '01 Z06 only has 20 horse power less than the 02 and up...its not slow by any means. I could fix that with a different intake and a KN filter. But id rather leave it stock. Besides, I couldnt find any 02's that were black on black. And this section is for ANY kills, not JUST RX's and if you would care to read my profile or my info box, you might see that I have an 88 GTU.

Lol. All Ferrari is at that point is a name. The Corvette handles better, is faster, and is just as aerodynamically sound. All the 355 has on it, is the name. What car won the LeMans 24 hour for the last 9 years running? Not a Ferrari....

That's a badass vette.

FYI, you I'm pretty sure you have an ls6 engine, not an ls1. They are similar engines though.

actually there is a noticable diffrence between 02 and 01. i have an 04 and drove an 01. you cant really feel, or notice when racing another car, the difference between a regular C5 and an 01 z. you dont have an 01 because you couldnt find black on black, you have an 01 because they are cheaper.

the reason he's posting here and not on the corvette forum is because he thought we would be impressed. im not. wanna bring ur **** here and race my rex??

and what the **** are you talking about 54 psi of boost? do you have any idea how much time and money it takes to make a rotary take that much? let alone, do you have a clue how long it would last??? the guys at malloy mazda with there FD 50+pounds of boost and they rebuild after every day of racing.

I dont understand why you guys are hating on him, hes posting on the rx7 forums because he has an rx7, he has a very nice car and its not slow by any means. Everyone seems to be so caught up in the imports vs domestic bullshit, cant you guys just appreciate other peoples cars for what it is. Who the **** honestly cares if it has a v8 or a rotary in it, there both nice *** cars. Good kill rotary noob :-D!

Look, dont judge me from the 2 or 3 things you may have read that i posted. I am not ignorant. I dont think youll be stunned by the glory of a V8 or some **** like that. Get a life, I own an RX7 as well. I have an 01 because it is what i found that was Black on Black, WITHIN the price range that I could deal with. 02's were about 3 grand too high. So yes, money did have a say in it.

Hell yes i would race your 7. Im not scared of it, it wouldnt matter if i win or lose. I dont care what youre driving, I just do it for the fun of racing. To see what car/driver combo is better, and to test the limits. If someone is faster, i dont bitch and whine and say it was unfair, i congratulate them on their car, the tuning, and their driving. Come out here to Cali, around Davis, or SoCal when i have time off from school, and ill run against it.

Yes, it does take work. Im not going to say that its bolt on a turbo a boost controller and weld the waste gate shut. If you race sooner or later you break parts, yes, i understand that. Im not an idiot. The harder you push things the faster they break, but all i said was that i was capable of it.

And it was the C5R and then the C6.r that have won the last 9 races at LeMans.

(now that im done dealing with the current personal attacks which i find rather entertaining)

Dont flame me because I posted a kill i had in my car, I dont have any problems with you, why do you have to attack me personally when you dont even have a clue who I am? This forum says specifically and i Quote:

"-All forum guidelines are to be followed which includes all personal attacks, name calling and anything that we consider to be a flame or inappropriate. This will include variations of a cars name such as "rustang", "shitstang", "5.slow", "Honduh", and all the like. If we see a post with anything like that in it, the entire post will be deleted. If it is seen again in that thread, you will be banned for a week. We respect all types of cars and people here and it will not be tolerated any longer."

Im not trying to make fun of you or say that my car is better, so if you dont like what i say or you think that i sound like a retard, then just deal with it and move on.

And to your previous comment of A Z06 isnt a rex, why are you posting here:

"- Have fun in this section, but not to the point where people stop coming here because they fear getting flamed. Everyone is welcome here, all types of kills are welcome here. It is not limited to kills that involve RX-7's."

I'm sorry that you feel I shouldnt be here. Now get over it.

***.

No actually its not, if you honestly care so much about the rival between v8s and rotaries then you honestly have no life at all. I own and fd, and i respect v8s, rotaries, 600whp civics, watever.. if its a nice car its a nice car regardless of hom many pistons it has or rotars... If your going to hate on someone because of the type of car they have you have some serious issues.

Rotary noob basicly summed it up, theres not much more u can say hes right in every aspect.

There are different classes that run in the LeMans. The Audi R10 is in the P1 class i believe. In the GT1 the corvette has dominated. I should have specified the class, my appologies.

No. They cosigned for it. I pay for it.

I bought my GTU cash, and handled everything myself.

Im not one to argue about stupid topics suck as this, but rotary noob, when a young guy your age who has a co-signed z06, and you race everything, it just makes you look worse. Most young guys think they can drive, espically when they have a performance car such as the z06. You will find out either over time, you arent that great of a driver as you think you are, and will begin to learn properly, and keep your mouth shut. Or you will end up killing yourself, and/or someone else. This was meant in no means to make fun of you, or your car. Rather think of it, as helpful hint. Your not the first to come into this forum, and boast of how good of a driver, and car you have

Agree! He is one of the few that reads the rules. I love it when a less expensive car beats the crap out of a more expensive one. Most of those Ferrari, Lambo, ect owners don't "drive" their cars anyway. All that money to impress who??

I dont mean to sound like im flaming you, because that really ISNT my intention, but please dont assume things like that. It only makes an *** out of you and me. I know i dont know everything about driving, and that i still have lots to learn. When i can scrape enough money together to go to a racing school, thats the first thing im doing. I want to be in the SCCA. Guess what? You need a racing liscense. So thats one of my current goals. I should be able to attend one of those probably this next summer, and get some real track experience. Thanks for not being an *** about your comment though.
