My S4 FC M/T N/A VS 98 Lexus SC300 A/T N/A

Coming home from work today i have a buddy with a lexus sc300 get behind me. We been wanting to race each other for about 2 weeks now. We pull over to chat real quick about a safe area to do are runs. We get to the spot and i was in 2nd at 3.5k while he beeps to go. I had the jump and stayed at least half a car length on him till i get towards the end of 4th then he just walks me. We raced 5 times and each time i had him till roughly 115mph then he pulls on me till 130. After racing we chat a bit and both are convinced it was an equal race.

My mods are as followed:
S4 N/A

Racing beat header
Not a mod but a major restiction- chevy blazer CAT (yes i know i shouldnt have this on the 7)
K&N filter
blocked off 5th and 6th ports(bought it this way and want to go back to making them function)
removed emissions
centerforce clutch
ebay short throw shifter

His: 98 Lexus SC300 automatic N/A bone stock

Any input on this? Should i have done better? What should i do to my 7 to give it more pep without going turbo or nos? - Nick

Not surprised that both were pretty much even since both cars are slow.

Did you catch sand in your vagina? "Disrespect an RX7?"... Right, continue and be another one of those closed minded band wagon jumpers.

We have minivans and SUVs that can walk a stock or near stock N/A RX7 these days.

edit: "you're"*

Did you forget my rx-7 is from 1986? They better be making vehicles these days that are better than the past. Geez

"you're"....I couldnt care less about my spelling online, this is not an english class. Hell if i want i can go back and edit it to make myself sound better but you know what?... I do not care.

OK, FC's were produced in the 1980's. Your point? Doesn't change the fact that it is still slow in today's standards. Truth hurts?

Your second paragraph is completely irrelevant to the original post, but whatever floats your boat.

Say no more, neither will I, fuel boy. Let this do the talking.

Yeah man, its pretty weird. I pull pretty hard towards the end of 4th gear then my 7 just doesnt move. 5th gear on the 7 is a joke, deff a overdrive gear only. After maxing out 4th then its game over for the 7.

Curious tho, if i remove my cat and replace it with a test pipe or resonator how much hp should increase? 5hp if im lucky? How about making my 5th and 6th ports function? Any noticable increase in power from that instead of being blocked off? Not trying to make my car crazy fast or anything since its a N/A but just trying to get alittle more power on the butt dyno. I am happy with my car besides the body work and suspension but alittle more power wouldnt hurt.

you have all these mods that do nothing if your 5th and 6th ports are clogged up, seriously your just making awful noise and not going anywhere if that is the case. quit buying ricer parts and just fix the car and it will actually run a somewhat decent time.

I never said it was fast sooo i guess im over myself.

To ajsuper7: I bought a different rx-7 and swapped the motor out of it into the 7 you see now(doesnt look the same tho) The motor already had the 5th and 6th ports removed. All the "mods" i have came on my car. I have not even spent a pretty penny on any engine mods. All i have done is a full tune up. I'd like to get my ports functional but havent gotten around to it yet....

God is this forum full of dicks or what?

The guy just posted his race, he never said his car was crazy fast or that he smoked a boosted Viper.

Give him a break...

Now for Felix:

I think that what your mean in you ports is that you have them stuck open not blocked off. Your car would have no chance against anything if they were blocked off. You would have no power after 4k (More or less). If you get them functional you will increase low end torque but thats about it. I do agree that the car functions better with them functional.

You asked about the mid pipe. Yeah that would help you. I replaced all exhaust and rats nest on my N/A and the results were very noticeable. I never put headers on it so your results might even be better.

Nice race and dont pay attention to these "bad *** 10 sec drag racers". The N/A even though it is slower it is a great car and yes it is still an rx7. I personally like my GTU better than my TII even though my TII is way more powerful.

Realist is a better term. I ride in a stock GSL SE. My car is slow as ***** but it's fun as hell. Yes, I new civic si or a scion tc would burn it. But it's a fun car.

The guy you're trying to defend got butthurt when his car got called slow and posted some **** about disrespecting the rx7. A N/a rx7 is slow but it'll last forever pending you don't wreck it while doing something stupid.

RXRolla thanks for being understanding unlike most the people on here. But i know my 5th and 6th ports are removed and JD welded over. (i hate the idiot that did this!!!) They are not stuck/wired open, they are gone completely. My power starts to come alive at 4k+ so im confused how its doing the opposite of what you said. I plan to find the parts i need and make them functional whenever i have the time/money. As for the cat i have on there, im just going to leave it the way it is untill i can have new piping made or untill it fails on me. All in good time things will get better on my 7. : )

Hey dont pay attention to the drag racers on this forum most of them are full of themselves. For a 20 year old N/A car the rx7 is pretty fast. All the people that compare the 2nd gens to cars of the new millenium are stupid and dont have much common sense. If you compare your rx7 to any car of that time that was not boosted it was a really quick car and handled better than almost all. When you compare a 20+ year old car to a less than 10 year old car there are too many factors to make a comparison. If the rx7 of the 80's was being made exactly the same today as it was 20+ years ago it would be comparable to a SI civic or anycar under 2.5L on the road, imo. If it was built to todays standards and with the technology of today you would have just that, an rx8. For 1.3L and 20 years of wear the rx7 is a sick car! Dont listen to the people who are full of themselves because they have boost or nos, your not the one with engine problems all the time! Keep driving hard!

SayNoToPistons what rx do you roll with? Let me guess a tII. I bet you dont race boosted cars of todays standard do you? No because you know you would get your a** handed to you! Any boosted car of todays standard would rape a mildly modded tII and you know it! So a tII is slow by todays standard right? Give the kid a break atleast hes not driving with a piston under the hood.
