my rx7= lotus esprit turbo s4
i had to post this cuz i'm soo stoked on my car. yesterday i drove from tahoe to calaveras county on ca hwy 88. my friend just bought an fc and we thought that would be a perfect drive for him to get use to driving his newly acquired sports car.
so we get about ten miles past kirkwood and find ourselves stuck behind a huge clusterf*ck of loud harley type bikes. between me and them was a beautiful black lotus esprit s4 turbo with an amazing exhaust sound and some mega wide wheels. i pressured him at the very next passing lane (since there are soo few on that road anyways) and he dropped gears and passed. once ahead of the cluster it was him in front andme behind, not far behind. i started driving harder and harder to keep up and he drove harder and harder to pull away. we ended up not dropping below 50mph at any point for the next hour of driving, more than doubling suggested corner speeds at every turn. i found myself left foot braking to keep from running over his lotus in every corner that didn't open or sweep. i also found the only time he could open the gap was on long uphills where my n/a dissapointed. after about an hour of WFO and my turbo II brakes smelling like they'd been put in a kiln for a week, we closed in on a highway patrolman. i saw lotus brake lights and nose dropping, and then up ahead i saw light bars. i stood on my fading brakes to get down to a closer to legal speed while the lotus did the same. we found a turn out where we'd both have room to pull over and cool the brakes down again. as soon as i got out of my car to shake off the adrenaline and shake the lotus owners hand he was running over to me to do the same! i made a great new friend and had an amazing time chasing a super car. i couldn't have asked for a better saturday drive, or a more fun car to be driving. damn i love my car!

i use to build strictly turbo'd cars this is my first n/a sports car in a long long time.
i left foot braked cuz if you lift off the throttle mid corner at near traction limits sometimes it will cause snap oversteer so by holding steady throttle and braking with my left foot i can keep the car from unsettling mid corner even though i'm shedding speed.
i figured you guys would want to hear about having fun in a seven. i guess i was just asking for some **** talking though.

remember that the lotus esprit is a pig of a car and that an exige will spank just about anything on the twisties. btw, the west doesn't like to hear about idiot driving on public roads. post that kind of garbage in the kills section where you actually get post counts.

Coolie. Upgrade that suspension and get ready to feel some G's.
I have poly bushings all around and KYB AGX with RB springs. Stiff as hell, but got it aligned and setup for me as a driver, and corners = fun. Though, pulling out of them is a different story, as I am driving an N/A. So, I am not pulling outta corners quickly, but I can take them pretty quick.
Glad you had fun!

the exige?
that fucken bucket couldnt get away from my first gen, uphill, and as for the straights, fogetaboutit, that car is super duper deputy dog slow, god forbid another exige tries to run my homies acura, that left the exige i smoke by 8 turns, in gmr
the esprit is a way better, nd cooler car, the exige is like its honda, a cheap way to own a name. they should have left the honda motors in there, at least they would have had a chance
