so me and this civic are at a stoplight at the silver strand freeway where cops are everywhere. well, this honda civic pulls up redlining his car at the stop light wanting to race me. i was looking at him and i am 23 and he looked to be about my same age, but the thing is, i know i have a better job then him hence why i have a better car LOL (and my exhaust alone was probably worth more then his civic, a greddy ti). so i start BOVing at him and he revs to redline as he is boucing back and forth in his seat from adrenalin. the light turns green and he peels out like an ******* down the road... me, i havent even hit the gas yet and just watch him go buy. well, there is a car behind me now so i go the speed limit. guess what i said about the cops, well he got pulled over and as i drove by i just waved.

i just dont get it, everyone wants a shot at an rx7 to see if they can beat us. i also love how on the freeway you get some random car weaving in and out of traffic wanting to race. there is this gay mr2 with a bov on base that BOVs right next to me all the damn time and it get annoying because i hear him go by with him tapping the gas setting off his BOV. karma is a bitch and i am just waiting for him to wreck that car. i just think it is funny that people think they are going to race, and then you dont do anything HAHA toying with someones ego is so much fun

yeah I know what you mean by everyone wanting to race and rx7. I'm the only one near where I live with one and everytime I get on a highway or stop a red light, it seems that there is always someone there wanting to race.

to tell the truth, I just ignore them now. I gave up trying to race everyone and let me tell you, it is funny watching them speed off and about get into a wreck.

 

yeah, on the base i am at there are actually a couple 7's running around. none of them are modded at all which really sux, but to each thier own. but yeah, racing was cool when you first start driving (IE 16-18). after a while when you learn of how much of an idiot you are for doing just that. now, i just think it is fun just messing with thier head because i know they want a shot at my car. plus i am doing everything right with this car, i am saving up for zeal super functions still (i have about $2200 now, so i need a little more) rather then going with the gay fiberglass body kits they put on civics that shatter when you hit a bump

i just want something fun to come along where we can have a nice humble race, and not a cocky ricer idiot...

 

LoL, faking them out like that is the best. My girlfriend has a honda civic, its an all show and no go civic with dual exit exhaust with quad tips so everyone things theres something to back it, but there just isn't. People **** with her all the time, revving and boving. She complained to me about it so I told her to do exactly that. Rev back, act like your gonna race and when the light changes just sit there watch them take off then just casually drive. Well shes done that a few times now and she loves it, shes seen her would be opponent get pulled over a couple times too. Its ******* funny as hell to watch.

hmmm funny because were i live everytime i took my TII out nobody wants to race me and when i mean no one i mean no one, no civics, no integras no nothing. i see the hondas revving at some other cars like tiburon's, mitsubishi's etc, and i got beside them and rev my rex and is like they crap the're pants because all they say is "im not going to race against your rx7, i know what that things can do" i get pissed because they always want to race the cars that are slow. here they hear the name Turbo II or Efini and they crap there pants don't know why but its funny.

 

^^^ That's probably because anyone that's serious about cars in Puerto Rico knows what an RX7 is and what it's capable of.

 

yeah i know that bro, but to see a turbo 2 or fd in the street here is like seeing a lamborghini because there rare and the fd even more rare, only seen like 4 in my area and thats was like once and never see them again. i just got a little pissed bro because my TII is always garaged and i only use it on the wekeends and if you have an automatic car that you drive the whole weak and in the wekeend you take your rx7 out, you know what you want to do and that is play around on the street a little lol, and every freaking time i take it out i get bored as hell because no one want's to have a friendly race with my rex, hehe the only guys that don't back down are the srt-4's they're the only ones that do race, but unfourtanetely where i live, there's almost no srt-4's, no sti's, no evo's, just hondas and lancer ralliarts oh and corolla xrs. my rex is only midly modfied but i know im going to beat the civics, ralliarts, and xrs so theres no much fun in there.

when im in my TII, nobody ever tries to race, but it looks stock though except for the frontmount. more people wanted to race me when i had my GXL, i guess because of the aftermarket rims

I never get anyone who tries to race me in my FB. I don't know why. Its loud and obnoxious, there are all kinds of kids who try to race everything around, but the only time I even get someone trying to race me its a C5 Vette or something with a driver that looks like he is hitting his midlife crisis. The cars I would actually be able to compete with never try to race me. Its not like I'd really race anyway. I am one of those guys who love to tease them at a stop light with revs, and then watch them take off from the stop like crazy.

 

Getting ppl to race me in the 10AE is a bitch.. When i had my prelude it attracted races but my Rx7 seems to do the opposite tho. That might be cuz it doesnt look soo great right now lol. but it makes a kill that much better when someone underestimates u.

 

Hey Davin, you can't say that all the 7's are stock on base! My car has more mods then yours, and Marny on the Reagan has the nicest 7 on base, and he has about twice the amount of upgrades I have. Not to mention his rebuilt motor. Was the guy in the civic a civilian? Good call on that freeway though. Don't sleep on those civics though. I use to have one, and I beat a few turbo cars, even a stock STi(I mean the STi isn't a FD or anything HAHA!)! My fastest on the strand was 155MPH in that Civic...

 

I have a gtu with an s5 TII swap street ported to hell. So I get the nice little braaaap braaaap braaaap idle. I dont really get challenged by anything . I went to the races one night, I dont go much it was my first time in years actually, and I got to the line and the guy who says "go" comes up to my window and says "sorry dude, no one wants to run you" lol, I told him my car isnt that fast! About the FD owners, most fd owners ive met have been awesome.

I've had this car for 8 years and I'm 11 years older than you. I do not go to organized street races nor go around looking for them *but* I have no problem in laying the smack down.

 

I run into the same cars as you, people always try to race me, but i usually dont street race and i have to let my motor break-in, and its a hard urge. The other day some 05 STI tried to race me, bug the hell outta me.

 

FD is an idiot magnet. I'll be driving normally and some civic will hear my BOV and all of a sudden he thinks hes driving a Ferrari or something...
