I think that the video and the race probably are in the same place, the original posters imagination. I would pay money to see ANY street driven car beat any modern liter-bike on the street. Assumming that the bike wasnt being ridden by a total squid you would need a car that could run low 9s on street tires. I just don't see that happening. Yes, there are PLENTY of street cars that pull 9s on slicks, but I have never seen one (not that they dont exsist, becuase they might). I would be suprised if there are any cars on this forum (on street rubber that is) that could take a modern 600 on the street being that now most of them are running 10s on street rubber.

I usually stay off any post about bikes since I race them and think street riding is for squids for the most part and that street riders are basically slow (in turns that is), irrisponsible riders that can't ride to save their lives(hense the alarming number of bike parts you find on the sides of the roads in north GA and Deals Gap).
If you are a street rider and under the impression that you are fast I reccomend that you join WERA or CCS and find out what fast really is. A typical "fast" street rider only gets lapped 1-2 times in a 10 lap race on a 2 mile track his first few races in WERA.

Sorry for the rant. Bad day at work.

The '05 GSXR1000 makes 165whp. Good luck trying to beat it. If you did, the rider sucked, or was just playing with you.
A guy on my other forum had an '04, it got stolen, so he bought an '05 with the money from insurance. He said the difference was night and day between the two bikes. He also said its not the power that scares him, it is the lightness and the whole package.
I have a CBR600, I highly doubt I can run high 10s with it, but people have done it. I dont even think I can run 11s.

Gary Javo's Heffner TT Viper GT-S put a good bus length on a GSX-R 1000 that had a slip on when he raced from 70-170. This is a street run of 0-150mph in 9.7 seconds. He drives this car to work...so yes it's not some lumpy-idle stripped down death machine. It's a full-weight, street tire, pump gas 1200 lb.-ft. monster of a car. You talk about cars running 9's on slicks? This thing runs an 8.6@165mph when he puts MTs on the rears. You talk about paying money to see a car beat a street bike. Hell, I'd pay just to see this car in person.
