My 87 TII and my friends shortbed 2000 f-250

I had to meet him at a gas station to get some money he owed me and we sat there talking for a few minutes before we left. He lives in the opposite direction as me so when he left he when out to the light. The gas station is at an intersection of a major 4 lane and smaller 2 lane road. I was just gonna make a u-turn at the light and go back west and he was gonna head east. On a spur of the moment thought I decided to just mess with him and go his direction for a bit and see if he would get on it. Im behind him at the light and I see him look up and notice im there and then the light turns green and he gets on it and I wait just a second so I dont rear end him. lol. Hes probably got 2 cars on me when I shift into second then I shift into third just as Im overtaking him on the right and Im easily pulling past him and put one car on him and I slow down to the speed limit. He passes me and has this "I cant believe its not butter" look on his fast. When I was passing him all I could hear was his diesel screaming. I know this is nothing special but I got a kick out of the look on his face. Anyway, if its this much fun showing someone my tail lights in my car it must be an awesome feeling to really own someone with a crazy fast rx7.

Jeremy,

I have a 2000 Cummins Turbo Diesel (5.9L). My truck is bombed, and it is all this and that too. But even against my own Corolla turd, I'll get handed my own ***. My truck is 7,130 lbs empty (only a full tank of fuel). My redline is like 3,300 rpm. It de-fuels at like 2,800 rpms. Defueling is gentle and from my knowledge it is merely to keep it from slamming into redline. Its a 6 speed manual, so I lose boost at every shift (automatics are quicker).

The engine weighs like 1,200 lbs. It will not accelerate quickly. But since its bombed, it will out run new 6.0's and new D-Max's and such (big deal, they're not that fast compared to a light peppy car anyway). But where it kicks *** (big time) is towing.

I just got through towing my 24 foot enclosed trailer to Chicago and back (I live about 1.5 hours north of you in Pike Road), and averaged 13.9 mpg. That's better than a H2 empty. And my truck will pull my trailer up hills like a *****, and loaf along towing down the interstate.

The point is, I bet your buddy's truck will outrun some decently powered cars (especially heavy ones), but a TII is going to kill me. My truck is about as fast as a 12A gen 1 car stock. Which is not too slow ... for a 7,130 lb truck.

Nice job sticking it to him!

Hey man!!! Hows it going? Very cool to see another person on here thats very close to me. Well, if he had anything done to his truck performance wise hed probably been a little closer to me. His is stock but the only reason I was messing with him is because he was sayin how he was running this guy with a trans-am thats pretty fast and he was even with him. Umm...ok man. LOL. Now my buddy has an 04 250 with the smaller motor but hes just got some type of chip kit on it. On the low setting the thing will go sideways if he turns at a stop sign or comes out of a parking lot to fast. Of course I havent seen him do it but I have no reason not to believe him. I honestly think his truck would run a low 15 second quarter or maybe a bit faster. He was screwin with me one day while I was driving the stang and he pulled pretty good but he doesnt run a 13 thats for sure. Anyway, thanks for the input man. Nice to meet ya. O,btw...is pike road up toward Montgomery?
