Talking Mk III Supra vs. '98 Mustang

It's pretty quiet in here, so I figured I'd post up a little incident that happened last week. A friend of mine with a Mk III Supra picked me up from my apartment since the RX-7 is in the body shop. We were just driving along, talking about pistols, when all of a sudden we hear this LOUD car coming up beside us. I look back and there's this white mustang with some guy in it that comes "flying" by us. It had straight pipes apparently, cause it was pretty loud but went absolutely nowhere. It also had dealer plates on it, so apparently the guy had just bought it. As he sped by, we got a good look at his long *** mullet blowing out of the window and the gap-toothed grin on his face.

We immediately burst into laughter, unable to give chase due to impaired vision by tears. After regaining some composure, we catch back up to him at a stop light, passing by him in the other lane. The light turns green and Billy Bob slowly makes his way up behind us again. Both lanes soon clear of traffic and John Boy makes a run for it, going WOT to get around us. As soon as the mustang is at our window, Kyle drops down into 2nd and we're immediately out infront of him again and pulling steadily. Gomer does a ricer fly-by and he doesn't look as happy as he did a minute ago, painfully aware that his legendary mustang has been beaten by a piece of "jap-crap".

Straight through 3" exhaust, so when I say it was loud in comparison to his car, it was loud. Other than that, I'm not sure. No boost controller or anything and I don't remember how much boost he's running.

The one we raced was a base model, so no V8 in it. We wouldn't have been able to walk away as fast as we were if it had been a V8.

The V8 ones sound hugely different from the V6 ones so if it was as loud as you say it was then you should have been able to hear the difference.

Considering it didn't say GT on the back and it was fairly slow, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a V8.

Just asking because the '94-'98 GT's are slow as ***** so I thought maybe it could have just been debadged or something.

Yeah..the 94-98 Mustang GTs had basically no power(low 200s) the V6s had 150-160. shouldn't have made a difference either way with a modded mkIII turbo.
