Alright, I dont sreet race, I got caught awhile ago and I decided never to do it again. Anyways I pull up to a stop light, what do you know a brand new eclipse is sitting their. He rolls down his window and says hey isnt that the car that bows down to mine on tv? As you can assume I am pretty upset at this point, and I said the only thing that would be bowing down is you to my tailights. Anyways he revs a little bit and im like f*ck it, light turns green, I launch at 2500, and it was even close, maybe 4-5 car lengths if not more by the time I hit 90. Lol he made a right at the next stop light as I was waiting for him.Now here is the killer, I drive an Automatic, and yes I was using the hold feature. Mods in sig, I honestly thought it would of been closer, considering they acclaim 260 hp and I drive an automtic with only dp and cb. I have no money for a 5 sp swap but its on the list of things to do.

 

nice kill, I don't get why they put the FD bowing down to the eclipse, they ain't nothing special, I would rather have a 2g GS-T or GSX before I ever buy the newer eclipse.

 

Aren't the new Eclipses pretty damn heavy also?

 

They weight in at 3,500 lbs and it supposidly does a 14.4 second 1/4 mile and goes from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. They are hidious cars and i really don't understand why they used a 7 in their stupid commercial....why not the new rx-8 (that i could possibly understand for competitive marketing of the new cars but putting a 7 in there just makes zero sense to me) The new eclipse has nothing on a 3rd gen Rx-7! And i can't wait for someone in a new eclipse to pull up to me at a light and say..."isn't that the car that bows to mine in the commercial?"....I'll have to rip him a new one after a remark like that.

 

They are also testing the new eclipses on the Speed channel saturday at 3pm, just thought i'd share incase anyone is interested in seeing how crappy they really are. I wanted to see it but i'm going to be at work, so make sure you let me know if the damn thing falls apart during testing.

As far as I consider we should amke a comparison test between the new eclipse and an FD and see tho would win and once FD distroys eclipses *** we should send a nice letter to the mitsubishi people asking to pull that commercial of the air.

Plus like that guy sead "isnt thats the car that bows to mine" I thing this is making fun of FD and it could hurt my feelings and I could go and sue the living **** out of them. Thats what I think becouse my wife drives the FD and she got couple remarks like that and Im geting tired of that. By the way if anybody is interested in doing this match up I will volunteer my car since it is stock and I doubt that anybody else on this web site has a stock FD.

 

We should make our own commerical and post it up here on the net and send it to the Mitsu sites.
