I walked a 350Z in my TII with only a 2.5" dp @ 11 psi. They're not as fast as the hp would suggest.

I don't know how your friend drives his Evo, but with AWD you don't have to worry about the tires squealing. In the turns I floor the Evo and TRY to break traction because you nearly can't! It might get the tail out a little bit, but it keeps pulling and accelerating through the turn. It's just awesome, and it's definitely miles ahead of my old TII. I'm not saying it's impossible to beat in the turns because every car has it's limits, but any monkey can take an Evo to its limits without breaking a sweat. That's why it's so much fun.
where did you get 270 awhp from a evo IX? the crank horsepower only increased 10 and don't say its underated cuz most guys are still running low 13's @ in the low100's. i could believe 240 awhp though.

And Cobalts claim 200 @ the crank but put down 215whp, and SRT4's claim @ the crank what they put down to the wheels. It IS underrated, and there are some that have hit 12.7 @ 106 BONE STOCK.

i owned a 03 evo.... then sold it to get the FD.. LOLOL...

My opinion... the Evo is just a lot easier to drive than an FD. It is not so hard to launch and is sticky on corners. For an FD... you have to be real good to drive it properly. My FD is very close to stock..but my evo was putting down 289whp so i cant really compare the power. However everytime i ride with my friend's 05 evo (stock).... I think stock per stock... it is pretty close. It just depends on the driver LOL.

I will be buying my evo 9 soon (grocery getter).. so when i get it..il compare.... but for now.. i have to practice driving the FD.....

Because dodge has always under rated their hot rods. The evo 8 was putting down around 230-240awhp, and so was the STI. I doubt the Evo 9 is much diff.

interesting stuff!!!! did the usdm evo IX get the magnesium/titanium turbo? guess im going to have to start moving from the subaru camp. i used to own an sti and im pretty much with everyone else who has had an evo. those cars you can just throw them into a corner and the car was very predictable of what it was going to do. man i want a evo 9.

The dynos and et's vary of course, but I was particularly impressed by the guy that broke 11's with just a TBE, air filter, and reflash.

I've only given you a small sample. Dig around long enough and you'll see. Unless the entire Evo community lies to itself then I see no reason to discredit it.

I definitley respect the performance numbers of the EVO's and the STi's...I just don't like the way they look. IMHO. I guess I am spoiled by the sleek lines of the FD. I also like the older generation of the NSX.

This is a stock 2006 350z dyno-sheet (the 300hp one's). The dyno typically reads 15% lower than your typical Dyno-Jet. So yeah, around 255whp on a Dyno-Jet.

To answer the TII question I saw 3 350Z's dyno at AutoTech Motorsports on a new Dynojet. All were between 218-224rwp and I think that is at 3200lb's ?

To answer your question your TII with 220rwp and 2800lb's will have no problem beating the Z. 350Z low 14's according to the Magazine. I have seen the RX8 do 14.5's.

Yeah, but the 400 part in FQ400 stands for it's horsepower. That thing is a beast, to bad they don't sell it here.

There are some clueless people here.

1st off EVO VIIIs put around 240 to the wheels and thats AWD
2nd Stock to stock 1/4 mile on street EVOs will win
3rd I have a EVO No one and I mean No one can hang from a get on the street with AWD
4th On a roll you would be suprised what EVOs can hang with

5th Takes well to mods (EVO) Exhaust and intake(tuned)303whp 301wtq that would be around 360hp at the motor with 2 minor mods

6th EVOs will start the next day without smoking wondering if the seals blew out

Why am I trying to buy a FD again?

You can drive the **** out of a EVO minus AWD launches all night and still hold up

BTW I can spin all 4s without problems

Not taking anything away from the FDs badass cars but they are 2 completley different cars to compare
