Killed EVO MR and 350Z!
Friday night i took my Fd out and I ran into a 350Z and he revved up at me. So at first I was this is a waste of my time but the guy wouldnt stop messing with me so I decided to give him a run. We started from a 40-45 mph roll. I dropped it in second and on the third honk we both nailed it and i took him about 3 cars up to ~80 mph.
Later on the night i ran a EVO MR and killed him too. We both did a 40-45 mph roll from second and as soon as we got on it i took im a car and a half. As i shifted into third he let off. As we pulled up to the stop light he was like " Damn you're fast as hell...i let off cuz i knew i couldnt catch up"...I thank him and we went our own ways.
My mods:
3mm street port, intake, exhaust, dp + mp, Greddy smic, efini y-pipe, koyo radiator, pfc+commander, Greddy pulley kit, apexi avc r...i think thats all but i dynoed at 300whp.

I'd take any US Evo8 or 9 over an FD any day for making an awesome handling car.

I dont know about THAT. But where I live, it sure seems like a good idea, if I'm looking for a daily driver. Its been raining for the last week, and snows 1/4 of the year. Roads are of the sux.
If its a 2nd car, Id take the FD hands down.
For what the Evo's roots are, its impressive.

If you're only at 300whp then it would be safe to say that the Evo was stock or hardly modded. As with the RX7, the Evo takes very well to mods. 350whp is easily obtained on an Evo, especially with the IX's. I hate this debate, since I'm soon to have both a IX and an FD, but there's always the tard that has to say that one car dominates the other.
EDIT: Just realized that the tard is the same tard as always, so sorry to the other people that actually know what they're saying.

watch the best motoring videos of the Touge monsters. I guess that's the only time where the FD can outhandle everything else. it's the "rocket rotary" edition of the Best Motoring International video, where Orido, Tsuchiya, and the other fool drives each car, Saying that the GT-R Skyline with the scramble boost couldn't catch up to the FD.

hmm interesting enough, i dont hate any car and dont get me wrong (aside from obvious fugly pos ricer stuff) my friend that owns an evo8, drove an fd with intake exhaust & "chipped" ecu (w/e that means) and he said that car hauled more *** and handled beyond anything the evo can do (stock).
that was from my friend that owns the evo, i dont know, didnt really get to DRIVE drive the evo, but sitting in it it feels like a superior "from the factory" peice. but when he puts it down on the corner, it didnt make me feel like it out handles my fc by that far..?
evos are great and high in potential, but... boils down to money...
and how would an equally worked up evo hold up against an fd? i mean its BIG money to make the "2.3L evo" and if it is made and raced against, what is it racing against? street port fd? half bridge? full bridge? PP? its hard to compare a bored/stroked engine to a mild street port... assuming that if you are going to work up the internals, the guy would upgrade the pistons, port and polish the head,... etc.. turbo.. etc... as the rotary can get new housing with PP and some new rotors... etc.. no?
not saying i cant believe an evo is faster than the fd, just saying and equal match(stock to stock, or using similar turbos, equal value internal mods ($$$ wise or technical comparison wise))
and if i am right, doesnt the evo run WAY more boost than a fd? how would that compare?
btw to original post, good runs.

I don't know how your friend drives his Evo, but with AWD you don't have to worry about the tires squealing. In the turns I floor the Evo and TRY to break traction because you nearly can't! It might get the tail out a little bit, but it keeps pulling and accelerating through the turn. It's just awesome, and it's definitely miles ahead of my old TII. I'm not saying it's impossible to beat in the turns because every car has it's limits, but any monkey can take an Evo to its limits without breaking a sweat. That's why it's so much fun.
