Killed a C5 vette in my FD.

Yesterday, on my way home from changing my oil, some guy in a black c5 vette pulls next to me at a light. i really wasnt in the mood to race however he reved his engine and just stared at me. im kinda freaked out about racing on the street anymore due to the increadibly strict street racing laws we have here in south florida now.

however, i threw caution to the wind and went for it. its the first time ive beaten a vette by 2 car legnths. we got to a second light and he kept telling me how he loved r7xs and blah blah blah. i kicked his ***. bad. and he wasnt cop. we tried again, this time it was by 1 car legnth. he said he gave it all he had but just could catch me. my cars best 1/4 time was a 13.5 on street tires and pump gas. this guy said his best was 12.9 . either he cant drive, was lying through his teeth or i
can drive awsome. the latter i doubt

oh, and he made the dumbest mistake, he wanted to race me on a rolling second. idiot.

i dont think it was auto simply because i heard him holding his shifts a tad too long. the engine sounded like it was fluttering. pushed too much. than again, i dont know.

13.5 @ what MPH?

A stock C5 (even an auto with a 2.73 gear) will beat that. You beat the driver. Especially since it sounds like he banged the rev limiter:

My friend wasted a c5 in his fd then blew up his air separator tank and got it on video. He had a single turbo setup at about 12-14 lbs.

With those mods, I really don't see you outrunning a stock C5. It'll be a close race with an auto 2.73, but the 3.15 autos and the MN6 cars will have a faily sizeable advantage on you. Most stock C5's will run low 13's. The Mn6's will dip intot he high 12's with a decent driver.
Your MPH will be the best indication of how you'll do in a highway roll. C5's trap around 107-110, depending on the transmission.

Accept/except - look them up. And how does your 437RWHP FB have anything to do with the lightly modded FD that they were talking about?

I have played with quite a few C5s when I was back in FL. (land of the retiree)

I yanked on several (more than 4) from a stop by at least a car up to the top of second.

I played with one on the way to Ft. Lauderdale / Miami for a good thirty miles (turnpike). I pulled him good every time. He was manual. We raced probably 6-7 times from 70-75.

Either they are hard to launch like a viper, or they all were crappy drivers.

I have Apexi intakes, downpipe, and Dual N1. Nothing else. I trap 109 so its apparent that im not that fast.

Maybe the guy that posted this has a faster car but cant do good at the track. (NO offense)

no offense taken. 1/4 mile stuff really aint my thing, besides, i still have lots to go untill i can even get close to mastering my ride.
