Kill vid of the week..Indykid vs Zinx

This vid is Indykids Supra running 25lbs on pump gas (that's right, pump gas) vs Zinx T-88 FD running 15lbs. The cars are very close power/weight ratio. Indykid pulls ahead during shifts due to his flat powerbad, brake boosting and speed shifting. I believe this was Zinx's first real race in the car. He was shifting a little early for a T-88. Zinz and I ran later in the day and were were even in 2nd and 3rd, both at 15lbs.

Enjoy!

Yes, Lee's car is VERY strong. He is putting down 500 to the wheels. What's worse is he knows how to use it against you. I'm going to make sure my **** is correct before I step in front of a camera.

I think it would have been a much closer race if he had brake-boosted. It looks like he pulls a little but on the supra towards the end...Cool video, though.

I agree with the brake boosting, with a turbo such as the t88 I would imagine going from a roll at 12 -15 psi instead of vacuum would make quite a difference. BTW indykid did you brake boost or no? I also noticed he held him off and appeared to start reeling him back...video was short though

It's a tough call. Indy was break boosting, but I think it would have taken more than that for Zinx to keep up. He seemed to be shifting just before 7500, and with that turbo he needs to take it to 8000-8500, then it would be very very close. Speed shifting would help also.

I am expexting to put down about 425 or so at 15lbs. I am going to swap out my exhaust, finish tuning and maybe dyno next week. I was chasing behing them, but they both walked me cause of my AFR's were <10:1

I think radkins is right, brake boosting would have helped but probably not enough to take the win. Having that extra 500 rpms would help though because it will drop me right back into my powerband between shifts where as now its just below it.

what turbo is indy running?
zinx any idea how much power u are making?

Lag on a single in a roll race does mean alot. i beat a single fd with my twin car with 30 less rwhp pretty easily.

Holding the brake while your rolling to put a load on the engine and build boost. Release brake and......

We've got a good vid of Indykid brake boosting. Will post it as soon as he learns how to use his computer

Its in the works. I've just been getting used to the car and its been down so long i want to enjoy it for a while before i blow it up again. 15psi is also as much as i want to run on pump gas. Water injection and a race gas mix will be my next plans around the end of summer.
