No way is a stock gs-t as fast or near as fast as a dead stock FD. I've raced both in my 01 Cobra and from a roll the rx7 is pretty dirty but a stock eclipse with a t-25 is nothing to brag about. Even with the t-2small on 17+ pds of boost the most power with full bolt ons and everything they can make is 250whp. I've raced several of my friends with 2g FWD DSMs and most have all bolt ons besides a turbo and they didn't even put up half as good of a race to the rx-7 with just an intake did.

It's there so the hood clears the timing belt. So yes, it IS functional.. only on the turbo models though.

BTW, when we raced, I was having missing issues and my fuel pump was completely shot, the car wouldn't even start the day after. I have replaced the fuel pump and I'm waiting on an idle motor to fix the missing problem.

That was my friend with the GST that wrote that, just to let ya know. We wil race when he gets all that done and we will see who wins. I'll keep ya updated. I'm thinking same outcome just a little closer than last time.

Of course, the turbo is a joke. And I don't think anybody said a stock gs-t is near as fast as a stock FD. What I said is that a 1st gen. gs-t with all the bolt-ons will be able to walk a stock FD easily because it has a decent turbo (14b). As I said some have run 11's with it. I know of someone in Colorado altitude that ran a 12.6 with the 14b on the stock intercooler (!!).
