Caught a light with an E92 M3 ('08+ coupe). It was probably a guy in his early 30s with a hot blonde girlfriend. I was in the left turning lane and he was in the right lane (3 lanes total). I had a friend with me who wanted me to race him. I wasn't really up for it. The light turns green and my friend sticks half his body out the passenger window, looks the guy right in the eye and gives him a vicious thumbs down. I just laugh, thinking nothing of it, and we keep driving.

We turn off the main road to a twisty side road near an industrial park. I look up in the rear view and there is the M3 and he is pissed! He is riding my *** and everything. I make a left down another wide open side street. He's still on my *** so floor it in 2nd up through the top of 3rd. He is staying on my tail but I think I very very slowly started to inch ahead of him, touge style. It wasn't exactly a "race" but if I had to call it, it was pretty much a draw. My turn was coming up so I quickly slowed down and made a right.

He flies by us revving his engine (bouncing off the limiter) while his girlfriend has her head out the window screaming "**** YOU!!!!!!!" while flipping us the bird. It was unexpected, bizarre, and pretty damn funny.

Car is a '94 street ported with stock sequential twins, dyno'd 300whp.

 

Newer M3's are ******* beastly. You would've gotten hammered off the light and he would have nailed you in the twisties, but I'm sure it was interesting to watch and partake in. I kinda want to see a head to head run of the two cars now

 

Nothing cooler than passengers that egg on races like this... oh wait.

And I thought you did this with the Eclipse in your avatar and was about to ask for a mod list with the on standby, but I could see a 300whp FD at least keeping up with an E92.

 

So I am driving down the road yesterday and some tool was hanging out of some beat up green FD with his thumbs down. What a dick At least my girl got her revenge as we chased them down and yelled **** YOU!! It was great.

 

I had the same encounter with a beat up FD, my girl flipped them off and yelled "fucked you" while I gave them herpes.

 

And I thought it was cauliflower.

 

My buddy has a E92 M3 DCT and my 320whp FD begins to pull away in 3rd-4th gear. They are quick I guess but he has never kept up with me in the twisties...

 

What road was it? Raleigh is pretty much as straight of a road as you're going to find.

 

um don't the new 3 series smoke the new m3's? (twin turbo + base tune would burn the high rev v8 from the video's i've seen...I love the new 3 series...so ******* sexy just not a big fan of M's and we all know boost is better )

 

Stock for stock... No. The M3 is much quicker than the 335i. I'm sure however that an already boosted platform is easier to make big hp numbers than the built to the tilt n/a 4 liter v8 in the M3.

I agree with this. There is about a 114hp diff b/t the e92 335 and the M3.

But from what I have been hearing, the turbo'd i6 is very tunable.

I'd still rock a e92 335i over the m3, as I am a hardcore i6 fan.

I had an M3 owner go way out of his way to get right on my *** a week or so ago, then when traffic clears he floors it and does a flybye like a stupid ricer....are Beemer owners insecure or what? I half thought about running him down and blowing his doors off but decided he wasn't worth my gas money. Big boat.
