I've found that the majority of guys driving stock WRXs can't drive for ****. Launching an AWD car can be tricky, and a lot of those guys just don't worry about taking the time to learn how to properly drive the car.
A stock WRX with a proper driver will run 14 flat in the quarter. Most people that drive WRXs are lucky to see 14s. Which may explain why th race was so close.
Have you ever brought your FC to the track?

A stock WRX can indeed run a 14 flat, but only if the driver is willing to risk busting one of the differentials by launching high enough to take advantage of the AWD. On average they put down 170awhp stock, which still should be enough to take out a n/a if driven at all.

listen I have driven multiple wrx's and I own a TII. A stock WRX will be pretty close to even with my TII up to about 90 or so mph. No way your non turbo could have taken a wrx and if so the guy didnt launch and didnt drive his car. Most WRX's should run high 14's stock with a decent driver. People underestimate them because of the fact that the turbo lag sucks for a stock car. I am trying to sell my car to get a WRX in fact... better gas mileage and AWD a necessity in New England
