Thumbs down I-95 Races w/ silencer... got a ticket, not for racing

I was traveling from NC to NYC it's about 8 hours drive, done it a coouple times without the silencer... its sucks after about 2 to 3 hours into the trip. I raced a GTP Gran Prix from a light, beat it but had to work hard for it. The second race was against a Turbo MKIV supra, known mods are catback and BOV. We raced from 55 and my first turbo spooled fine but after 4.5k boost just drop to 7 psi. I shut down at about 90 and he is about 2 car length ahead.

Got a ticket passing through Richmond. Saw the cop speeding up from a long way back, slowed down and blend in. He passed me and slammed on the brake after taking a look at my headlights. The cop said he clocked me going 78 at a 60, he then said he's going to give me a break by writing a ticket for after market catback. First I had the silencer in so its definitely not loud, second I have a valid inspection sticker (even though the car wont pass), and third the car is registered in NC. The ticket is only for $65 and no points. I think the cop knows its a hassle to go to court for it since I am from out of town.

My parents and I used to drive up and down from NY 2-3 times a year, in a minivan none the less. The only place we EVER got a ticket? Virginia...

I am going to try to fight this some how without going to court. It just does not seem right, when I am only passing through.

explain to me how going to court is going to be "inconvenient" for the cop...you have to show up in THEIR jurisdiction, and show up in THEIR court...you say you got that ticket in richmond, VA....well enjoy the drive from NC to there if you fight it...cops have nothing better to do than show up for court, they will show...

here is what happened to me one time...

i fought a ticket...

i showed up to contest it, the cop didn't...guess what happened.
i had to come back a month later, I am told some bullshit excuse by the judge about how the cop was not notified of the court date, when i heard that, i said WHAT THE ****! IF I WAS NOTIFIED, WHY THE **** WASNT THE COP???!!! AND HOW THE **** DO YOU KNOW THE COP WASNT NOTIFIED? then i said, IF YOU KNEW ALL THIS, WHY THE **** WASNT I NOTIFIED TO NOT GO TO COURT TODAY???

The judicial system is totally fucked up, a bunch of worthless ******* people doing what ever the **** they want...

my advice, dont waste your time dealing with any of the ***** running the court system, it'll only cost more time and money than its worth...i would pay the $65 and be done with it

When sueing or being sue, if you don't show up you lose, that should be the same for the cops. I am not going to try to go to court, I actually live in NYC now, so with gas($45 each way) plus toll fees($20 each way) I would be spending way more money. I am just going to make some calls and hope for the best.....
