Heavily modded s4 N/A vs. Eclipse GSX

The GTU got a little snack on the way to work today.

I was in the middle lane on westbound I-40 near Chapel Hill, NC when I saw a 2g Eclipse GSX merge from the right, driving somewhat aggressively. The car looked completely stock, and I believe it was. He cuts across three lanes and pulls into the left lane, behind me. So I think "what the hell, the last kill I got was a Civic with a fartcan." So I drop it into 3rd and just chill there at about 75mph. He speeds past me in the left lane and I get behind him about two carlengths.

Then he floors it and I follow suit. At first the gap is about the same between us, and then I hit about 6500rpm and I'm closing in on him, practically riding his ***. Then he hits the brakes and I back off. We run into some traffic, and he moves over to the right line about even with me. I give him the thumbs up. He scowls back.

The traffic clears up, and I'm in the left lane, so I hit it. This time I'm steadily pulling on him but certainly not walking him. I might have gotten two carlengths on him. We run into some more traffic and he does some risky ricer weaving and exits to the right.

Car is 88 GTU. Mods include steet port w/ T2 housing, Pineapple port sleeves, ported manifolds, RB collected header, race pipe, RB catback, SAFC, timing advanced. Dyno was 172 rwhp, but had some ignition breakup. So I'm thinking about 175 at the wheels.

9.7 @ 71 in the 1/8 mile

As far as actual track time, I've taken it to Virginia International Raceway for some parade laps, and at some point I'd like to get an instructor with me when I can get the money together.
