GT35R FD vs. 1998 Mustang SVT Cobra
Nothing big here. Just funny that I have had 2 fun races in the past 3 days.
His car pretty much has all the bolt ons. Pretty nice ride. He is a friend of mine and has been talking about wanting to race me so I just decided to end it tonight. I didn't have enough gas so I told him to follow me so I could fill up.
We get on a 2 lane road by my house and make sure their is no one in front of us. I didn't want to show him up on the first run so I kept my boost at 10psi. We both slow to about 25mph and I am in 2nd gear. I yell out my window and tell him to GO. I didn't bother break boosting or anything because boost is almost instant in my car. He jumps ahead by about 2 feet then immediately pull on him at around 6000rpm. I shift at around 7500rpm and he is about at my rear wheels. From about 50-80 his car was doin okay. In 3rd gear I put about a 1 1/2 lengths between us. And when we finished at 100 I had about 4 1/3 car lengths.
We line up again and I turn the boost up to 15psi. I yell at him to GO but this time I loose traction and my car is at about a 55 degree angle sideways. I let off a little to straighten out then give it another go. I am about 1 1/2 cars behind by the time I straighten out. I am goin in 2nd gear and gain a car length by the time I shift to 3rd. Now I am about a foot in front of him. We end at 90mph and I only had about a 1 1/2 car lengths on him.
Both runs were very fun but the second one was a little disappointing and scary. I wanted to smoke him but my driving let me down.
AIT's tonight were about 12C and max boost got to 1.02 on the PFC.
